Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.
I have been on vivelle dot .05 for a long time.
My doctor said because I was going for a long time symptom free that I could try to wean off it.
I can go about three weeks feeling no hot flashes, insomnia or moody, then I start to feel slight symptoms.
When I put a patch on, I get bad hot flashes, mood swings and insomnia for days.
The doctor said at first it's because I waited so long to change patches, but he also said the estrogen only stays in your system for three days or so, that's why you are supposed to change it twice a week.
Why don't I get symptoms sooner than three weeks?
My husband thinks I am getting too much estrogen.
Can putting on a patch cause symptoms it's supposed to stop?

And you can even get injectable forms as well as oral pills.
There are birth control pills (by design) which are estrogen only.
I'm on them at the moment due to my menopause to control my cycles so I can try IVF again.
I was moody as all hell for the first week or so of taking them, but things have settled down now.
I'm taking 35 in a town, instead of 21 due to the length my cycles and ovulation timing. You can run 3 packs on at a time, but when you stop it will cause a period of sorts.
NEVER do this without speaking to a DR first as you are a different individual to the norm and also to me.
