Menopausal Woes Community Group
Is there no one out there in all these groups that are needing to talk about the loss of sleep, the terrible 'flashes', the woes of memory loss, the constant mood swings? Anyone???

My periods have stopped for ten months - they have stopped before though. I am on antidepressants, too. I just got a new doctor and was prescribed Estratest and Provera. I don't really want to be on hormones, but this is ruining my life. I'm really hoping this helps. I've tried everything else, so HRT is a final choice.
Hope everyone is ok ~ Ginny
This is my first time posting on this site and hope that I am in the right place.
I am 47 years old and I feel Like I am 80. I was told that I was starting menopause at age 40. It hit me like a ton of bricks. I felt like I was going to pass out or have a heart attack. I was sweating profusely and felt like I needed to lie down. I called my mother and told her what was going on and she told me to sit and brace myself because I had just experienced my first hot flash. I told her to stop it that I was still to young for this crap. Then the dry skin and vaginal dryness kicked in causing me to seriously want to commit suicide, It is affecting my life in every possible way ( Sexual, social, work) It is relentless. I have been to the doctor at least ten times and no one is able to tell me what to do.
I cry so much my husband thinks that I am losing my mind. There are days when my body hurts so bad that it takes me thirty minutes to get out of bed. I have been to the doctor 4 times in the past 3 months with bladder and urinary tract infections.
I have charley horses almost daily and my hands and feet are either tingling or cold, hot or no feeling at all. It always sounds like train whistles or going off in my always hurting head. I could go on and on and but because of memory lapses it's hard to remember what I am going on about. I just need to be able to vent to people who understand what I am going through and know that I am not being paranoid or psycho.
The crying has been my worst problem - although there are other symptoms. I feel for you. Crying all the time is horrible. I didn't want to go on HRT, but after doing my own research, I found that it really helps some women with the crying spells and other symptoms. It was my last resort and hope for feeling well. A little over two weeks ago, I started on new meds with a new doctor. Over the past few days I have started to notice a difference. The crying spells are better. I still have a way to go, because I guess it takes time to adjust to the hormones.
I hope you can get the help you need as soon as possible. It can be very scary when the crying and dark thoughts come. Don't let your husband make you think you are losing your mind. He just doesn't understand.
Hang in there, and look for the right help and support.
Best wishes, and let us know how you are doing.
Ginny
Hope everyone is hanging in there and doing well.
