Acyclovir and post meningitis headache

I had meningitis and encephalitis secondary to herpes 2 virus and was hospitalized for a week, early this year.  Since then, when I become fatigued I have a bad, indescribable headache.  The ONLY thing that has helped, is a resumption of acyclovir, oral for 14 days or so.....I cannot describe the relief I get....I highly recommend it.

I look at the time frame and bet you are not on here any longer --would really like to know how you have been doing long=term. I just had this meningitis/herpes 2 at the beginning of August 2018. I had Acyclovir IV 3 x day for 15 days after hospital release. One week after ending this IV I am extremely tired.

i have had fatigue ever since, and one weird fainting spell that ended up back in the emergency room. The only way I have been able to work a sedentary job (thank God) is by use of Tramadol 50 mg, twice a day. however, part of this is because of back pain which contributes to my daily fatigue. I have not had to resume the acyclovir. Hope this helps. I hope your recovery is without further complications!
