Meniere's Disease Support Group
Meniere's disease is a balance disorder of the inner ear. The symptoms of Meniere's are variable; not all sufferers experience the same symptoms. However, "classic Meniere's" is considered to comprise the following four symptoms: Periodic episodes of rotary vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, and a sensation of fullness or pressure in one or both ears.
Yesterday was the worst day I ever had. I was in a bad mood all of a sudden. The my boss came to visit us. She was kind of cheerful and I was not. She turns to me smiling and ask me a question. And I walk away crying. She came behind me and we step out side. She hugs me around three times. She said she understand the frustration and wanted to help. BUT she is my boss NOT a friend etc. I cannot believe I broke down yesterday. Yes I was frustrated but that's not new and to just start crying and cannot control it. It was my worst day ever. Embrassing.
I had a year when I noticed I was getting slower and less able to keep up my usual pace at work. I am a strong worker so it became noticeable. It took me a while to figure out the MD went crazy probably because of the menopause. I went to my manager and told her and told her I was doing everything medically I could. She is great. She told me to get the FMLA so she didn't have to discipline me because our attendance policy is so strict. She is happy when I come in and I try not to call out. She lets me leave when it gets bad because I have a long drive home. We have a very big staff and it seems like everyone has some challenge going on. She never gets angry or makes you feel bad and she always listens. If you have a sympathetic manager don't be afraid to make the most out of it. It may make a lot of difference in how long and well you can work with MD.
