Meniere's Disease Support Group
Meniere's disease is a balance disorder of the inner ear. The symptoms of Meniere's are variable; not all sufferers experience the same symptoms. However, "classic Meniere's" is considered to comprise the following four symptoms: Periodic episodes of rotary vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, and a sensation of fullness or pressure in one or both ears.

Welcome!!!
Do you ever asked https://vestibular.org/article/diagnosis-treatment/types-of-vestibular-disorders/menieres-disease/
questions. They had helped me when I was told by ENT that I have to do shots etc. Maybe they can help you by giving you things to read.
A little over a year ago I suddenly lost hearing in my right ear. I went to an ENT who treated me with injections that didn’t work so he put me on a water pill (HCT). Since I did not have vertigo or tinnitus he was reluctant to diagnose it as Ménière’s disease but did mention it was a possibility and those symptoms may appear later.
Well a year later they did. My first episode was in May and lasted about 3 hours with severe vertigo and vomiting. He then confirmed the Ménière’s disease diagnosis. Then over the weekend I had another episode, again lasting about 3 hours with severe Vertigo & vomiting, but this time it came back again after about 10 hours and I ultimately ended up in the ER.
I find it difficult right now to explain to my family and friends the anxiety and fear I am experiencing so that’s why I searched for a support group and I’m very happy to have found this one.
I just sat in a support group and I agree with Stopthe support group is helpful. If there is no one in your area you can join in another one outside your area
Rose I am so sorry you have had so much going on. I will pray for you and pass along any info I get. I have somewhat of a medical background so I can understand some of this stuff and know when to dig deeper. Has anyone gone to Johns Hopkins for this ugly disease? I live close to Penn State Hershey Medical Center in PA and have an appointment with a ENT in Oct. for a second opinion and they will sometimes refer to Johns Hopkins.
I too am experiencing anxiety and panic - started psychotherapy about 3 weeks ago. Upped my Klonopin and Effexor, started guided meditations, and of course cry a lot.
