Can you explain the Chinese med philosophy a bit as it relates to MD? They take a drastically different approach to medicine, maybe they'll succeed where our doctors fail!!

Betahistine... This is the first I've heard of this and I'm quite excited! I've never seen a med *for* MD before! I doesn't seem to be available in the US. I'm excited to hear your results. Keep us posted!

I'm not sure if you're taking figuratively or literally when you say "re balance" but for years I had back problems, one leg shorter than the other, that eventually escalated to low tone hearing loss. I then started seeing a NUCCA chiro and saw great improvement. If you're trying alternative therapies, that might be something to look into. Wish you luck.

MixedBerries - Serc / Betahistine is not available in US as I learnt from websites but it is commonly used in UK & thus Hong Kong (which was her colony) to relieve MD. It is thought that it could increase blood supply to inner ear. It is not proved concretely yet but docs say it is cheap and at least do no harm if it doesn't work.

Chinese med also thinks ear with MD has excessive fluid in it but it sees our body as a whole. It tries to improve / rectify the function of kidney & liver (yes kidney & liver) to try to absorb the excessive fluid and prevent it from building up again if it works. In short-term it works like diuretics but i wish it can help me in long term.

The chinese med doc also prescribes me some med to relieve dizziness & ringing in ear. The main function of the med is to increase blood flow too.

There is no major side effect of the med but as I said the effect would take time even if the med works because it is to rectify the body's function rather relieving the symptoms. So if vertigo happens again, I will still take Valium & Dimenhydrinate.

Just be very careful when you mixing a western and eastern medicine. i have a neck alignment/ massage and acupuncture treatment by weekly by a Chinese doctor over a year after a daily nausea, tension headache, dizziness and random serve vertigo episode. the doctor did not mention anything about Chinese herbal medicine for a MD disease and the bi weekly acupuncture help reduce a daily loud noise and pressure fluctuate on my right ear tinnitus; take good care.

Olliedog - indeed. I tried acupuncture and it relieves the vertigo symptoms for a bit. I am looking for a long term treatment...thanks for reminding.
