Meniere's disease is a balance disorder of the inner ear. The symptoms of Meniere's are variable; not all sufferers experience the same symptoms. However, "classic Meniere's" is considered to comprise the following four symptoms: Periodic episodes of rotary vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, and a sensation of fullness or pressure in one or both ears.

Entering week # 9 since last remission. Also, entering week # 9 with the loudest roaring in my ears I have ever experienced. Very little sleep for this amount of time too. I am seeing ENT and he did help me with steroid injection to left ear for severe Vertigo (nausea caused vomiting non stop) last week.
Now another new experience for me.... I did not know could have roaring Tinnitus this loud and then..... a second sound starts joining in with a different tone and pitch.
Okay now, what the heck did I do to cause this? Diet? No way, I am on top of the low sodium and no caff, etc. Heck, I read every label on anything I pick up before I put one thing in my mouth. Stress level? Yea well you got me on that one. Not having a good nights sleep for two months might do that to a person.
Okay , so has anyone else had this type of Tinnitus? This is driving me NUTS ! If I didn't know better I would have a nervous breakdown by now. But I heard breakdowns are not all they are cracked up to be.
Trying to keep some sense of humor, but loosing it.

Yes, soft music does help. And for me nothing sounds stupid with regard to MD. I'll let you know what the ENT has to say on Thursday.

Different level pitches coming and going, cracking, nail gun thwacks, pulsating, and of course, the constant high scream... lots of variety.
I do have a water fountain in my house because I like the sound of running water. I think my mind hears that and shuts out some of the others, sometimes. But every little bit helps. I do notice the worse my sleep, the louder and varied are the sounds.

Tinnitus can be a tricky things, are you following salt restricted diet? My condition gets loud in relation to salt intake.
