Meniere's Disease Support Group
Meniere's disease is a balance disorder of the inner ear. The symptoms of Meniere's are variable; not all sufferers experience the same symptoms. However, "classic Meniere's" is considered to comprise the following four symptoms: Periodic episodes of rotary vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, and a sensation of fullness or pressure in one or both ears.
We found the highs and lows of her symptoms always coincide with the Barometric Pressure.
When the BP is stable she has fewer symptoms. ANY fluctuation worsens symptoms. A falling BP is the worse of the worse for her.
We decided to look into the places in America with the most stable BP.
Hawaii, San Diego and southwest Arizona have the most stable year round BP..
If possible try taking a trip to those locations during a time of BP instability in your current location.
We moved to San Diego long ago for this reason. She had a dramatic reduction in weather related MD symptoms..
It maybe worth looking into for other MD sufferers.

The end result is that the vertigo attacks have stopped. The Tinnitus and fullness in my left ear are still causing me daily issues. My triggers are salt and drops in barometric pressure (storms). I am managing my Meniere’s symptoms with a combination of doctor prescribed diuretic daily, low salt diet, no (caffeine, alcohol, chocolate), vitamin supplements (L-Lysine, Lemon bioflavonoid, Vitamin C) and stress reducing Tai Chi. My back up medication is doctor prescribed Meclizine if I feel an attack coming on. I know this regimen sounds like a lot but it helps me manage and is better for me than being dizzy or lethargic from prescription medications like valium.
In addition, I joined the Meniere’s Society (http://www.menieres.org.uk/) they send me a quarterly magazine called SPIN with helpful articles. Hope my story helps you.
