Hi for me anything overly loud or even my son squealing in a high pitch tone will make mine very loud. I have it all the time and never get a break from it to the point where I have trouble sleeping. I found an app its for sleep sounds and there's one on there that's called brown noise it knocks me right out along with my dogs they seem to pass out as well. Sometimes after I have been on cell phone I have issues to I mainly choose to text because of that and can't hear real well on a phone anyways. Hope this helps :)

Yes I can not talk on my phone with my right ear and even when I know I will not get a tinnitus fit in that ear I am to scared to use my phone on that ear. Just wanting to know I wasn't alone and it wasn't just in my head.

Nope not in your head. My left ear is my affected ear and even though I hold phone with right ear I'm still clueless sometimes on what people say. Sometimes I just agree and hope it was not a question. Its very frustrating :(

I have tinnitus in both ears and at different levels. It impacts the phone conversations in my right ear but my left is still normal, when using my headset all day. My tinnitus is constant and I haven't noticed anything specific that makes it louder or softer, it's just present all the time... enough to drive me crazy sometimes. I tried the different methods to not focus on it but that hasn't helped. I wish I had silence for just a little while, as I'm sure others do too.

Does anyone know if the tinnitus continues even after hearing loss? Just curious.

Acually I can answer that yes it does continue if you loose total hearing. I was reading a deaf forum on tinnitus that is how I know.

My doctor said the tinnitus actually is louder to you when your deaf in the ear because there's nothing to mask it such wonderful things to look for if your totally deaf how do you now go insane from it is what I would like to know cause it makes me nuts now :(

Oh yes! And am glad someone asked this ?:) as it's good not to feel alone tho sorry others have it. Between the hearing loss and the tinnitus, I can barely handle 5 minutes on the phone. And a hearing aid makes it worse too:(
How does one not go insane with it Kelly? By the grace of God and using things to mask it tho like U've learned, once our hearing goes, that's very hard to do. I meditate a lot and that has helped.
