I’ll start at the beginning. I’m 42 years old and was diagnosed with Ménière’s disease roughly 13 years ago. I had both the shunt surgery and nerve section surgery the first year. The shunt was only effective for about 6 months. Nerve section surgery was very invasive and took me 18-24 months to recover from. Mentally hard to recover from also, would not recommend that surgery if you live alone or have no support group. About two months ago I went bi lateral, now I have it in both ears. The dizziness returned and so did the chronic fatigue. I have recently acquired a new dr in the Portland Oregon area who has an unconventional method that so far works really quite well. It’s known as PRP or platlett rich plasma. They take your blood and spin it down. Then putting it in a small sirynge. First you are supposed to freeze and thaw the mixture 3 times. When you thaw the 4 th time you put it in a nebulizer and inhale through the nose deeply for roughly 10 minutes. I have only had 1 set of treatments so far which is 14 days worth. Within the first two treatments the dizziness was 100 percent gone. By day three I noticed that my hearing was starting to return to my ear which a month before was at about 30%. I also noticed improvements in sight and how much clearer my thinking was. I do have other issues currently working on with this dr but the changes for me are life changing because I had been under the assumption that life for me was more or less over. I still have a somewhat weak immune system but am working on projects that I never thought I would.
