Meniere's Disease Support Group

Meniere's disease is a balance disorder of the inner ear. The symptoms of Meniere's are variable; not all sufferers experience the same symptoms. However, "classic Meniere's" is considered to comprise the following four symptoms: Periodic episodes of rotary vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, and a sensation of fullness or pressure in one or both ears.

Well, the neurologist says everything looks good with my head and neck MRI, so I don't know anything else to do other than accept that Meniere's is causing all of the crazy "non typical" symptoms I'm having. I would never think your ear could make you feel so bad. On the plus side, I'm officially on the John of Ohio's Meniere's regimen so I'll try to keep everyone updated on the progress of it. Fingers crossed that it works. I emailed John of Ohio about his regimen and he actually took the time to email me back several times. I thought it was cool that he still firmly stands behind his regimen and says he is symptom free for 10 years now because of it. Here's hoping!

I really have to applaud you folks for taking control of your illness and your willingness to try different things. Allthough the cause of MD may not be known, you tend to find people are different with the things that trigger an attack. I remember in my youth I played ice hockey on the college level and was pretty good at it too. One day while in Dallas I tried skating at the mall, all they had were figure skates. One step on the ice I fell flat on my face and broke my nose! The moral of the story is what works for one may not work for another yet you can't be fearful of breaking your noggin every now and then.....LOL

Thanks Rich. I still believe Meniere's disease is cause by different things for different people, and a lot of articles actually refer to it as Meniere's syndrome because of that. So what works for one person might not work for another, which we've all found out since joining this website.
Jojo, I really hate that it didn't work for you. I'm praying the diet and juicing will. Like you said, its worth a shot, which is exactly what I told my wife about the JOH regimen. I'm not singing its praises just yet, but I can say that for the last 6 weeks I've felt AWFUL most of the day, every day. I started the regimen 2 weeks ago, starting with the Lysine, then a few days later adding the Vinpocetine, then about 4 days ago adding the Lemon Bioflavinoid. It could VERY possibly be a coincidence and not related to the regimen, but the last 2 days I've felt pretty good all day long. Even on the JOH page it says it could take months to work, so it might be all in my head ( no pun intended, lol.)
I just know that I will try almost anything to regain something that resembles my old life, (and I'll take suggestions on things to try from anyone on here, btw). I'm an avid outdoorsman, so having these problems hinder that considerably. Plus I have 2 small children at home and most times I'm afraid to be left alone with them. I can't be the kind of father I want to be if I don't get this under control. Hopefully someday soon, doctors will be able to straighten all of us out.

Jeff its good ur mri was good mine over a year ago showed neck problems and sinus problems so I hope n a couple of months when its redone mine is normal I hope u find relief and get where ur not nerves to be alone with the kids when mine all started I was the same way and now im not at all I know steaming my face , jucieing, and just calming myself has helped a lot I pray one day there will be something to fix md and everyone can be normal
