I'm so glad you had the MRI as well.

My ENT did an MRI first thing before he would diagnose me with M.D. He mentioned that he needed to rule out a tumor because it mimics similar symptoms as M.D. Sorry to say, but you are proof that that is accurate information. The thought of a tumor was very scary to me, but looking at the positive - I hope that this means they are able to take care of it and that your symptoms are then gone......forever!!!!

Thank you for your good wishes. I am still unsure as to whether or not I still have Meniere's or is it all a result of the tumour, something I will be asking the Neurosurgeon. I will know more once I have had my appointment. By the way I stopped taking the diuretic today as it makes me so dry in the mouth and makes me feel nauseous. I will repost here when I know more.

I hope when they take care of your tumor it will rid you of all your symptoms. I wish you all the best, please let us know how you do. I can't believe any doctor wouldn't order an MRI first thing!

Visited my ENT specialist last Thursday and he went through the final report of my brain tumour. He feels my Meniere's Disease is totally separate to the tumour. I will keep taking the Betahistine up until the Neuro surgeon tells me otherwise. I will let you all know whether or not my symptoms disappear if I have surgery-wouldn't that be nice!! Sorry to hear that it might be two separate issues. I'll still keep my fingers crosses that they are mistaken! If anything, maybe some of your symptoms will improve at least once the tumor is removed. Stay positive and best of luck to you!

Please keep us updated I'll have you in my thoughts and prayers yes when I first went to the ENT eight years ago the first thing they do is take an MRI to rule out other symptoms that I've had many many years now for eight years it's a terrible disease cause I also have fibromyalgia and migraines so you're in my prayers please keep us updated hope to hear from you soon.

I have now had my visit to the neurosurgeon. I am having a craniotomy on 7th October to remove the tumour from the left frontal lobe area. The neurosurgeon believes the symptoms I am having are Meniere's Disease related. I am pleased to say that the Betahistine has now controlled my vertigo and dizziness and the balance issues have settled down as well.I continue to have very loud tinnitus and nothing seems to reduce this. I will continue to take the Betahistine to control my MD symptoms. I have a scary journey ahead of me but the NS believes there is a high chance that the tumour is benign. I appreciate your messages of support.

Prayers for strength and healing. So thankful you are getting some relief from the M.D. symptoms. Have you tried the Lemon Bioflavonoids for the tinnitus? Many people have had good luck with that for dulling the tinnitus. (has to be lemon - not citrus) If that's ok with the docs....it might be worth a try?

I was diagnosed with MD over a month ago and have been on triamterene and I still can't say whether it's 'working' or not but I have had more good days than bad the last few months and I am hopeful I will make a full recovery. I've been suffering all sorts of symptoms since September 2013---yes, a whole year!---and had an MRI done a few months ago and thank God it came back non-specific---not totally normal but with small lesions in parts of my brain but considered non-specific and no tumors. Like loopdloop said; if you have doubts, or just want to rule things out, GET AN MRI!! I had the ENG testing done and my ENT thinks I have MD and that's what I'm being treated for, but I can say it's been a very long and frustrating and sometimes scary road to this point. You name it, and I've probably had the test done....

Hi again.
I had my brain surgery on 7th Oct. All went quite well and the neurosurgeon was able to totally remove my tumour as it had calcified quite hard. He had to cut my jaw muscle to get at it and I have a huge scar from bottom of my left ear up and around my hairline to the centre of my forehead. I had a huge black eye and lots of swelling but after a week in hospital and now another 2 weeks nearly at home I am doing well with my recovery. SADLY I still have Meniere's disease and there is no difference to my tinnitus. I still have vertigo and nystagamus of my eyes. I am continuing to take Betahistine (Vergo) tablets 16mg at 3x per day.
