Meniere's disease is a balance disorder of the inner ear. The symptoms of Meniere's are variable; not all sufferers experience the same symptoms. However, "classic Meniere's" is considered to comprise the following four symptoms: Periodic episodes of rotary vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, and a sensation of fullness or pressure in one or both ears.

Menieres Attack

I've had such a good couple of weeks and in the past 2 days I have had 2 drop attacks. I take valium for them. Are there other meds you guys might recommend I see my primary care doc on Thur and he's good about prescribing me meds that work. Thanks!!! Leslie

I don't know your age but - have you ever tracked you attacks next to your menstrual cycle? I was much more prone to attacks at certain times in my cycle. Keeping my hormones level is essential for me.

Interesting...how do you keep track of hormone levels or do you take hormone pills? THanks for your reply!

At the beginning I kept a daily diary of my attacks. After about 3 months of this, I noticed that (among other things) I had severe attacks the day before my period started and for the next 3-4 days each month.

I took that info to my OB. She talked to my neurologist and they decided to put me on a constant birth control pill. It makes a big difference for me and I KNOW it when I forget to take it.
