Meniere's disease is a balance disorder of the inner ear. The symptoms of Meniere's are variable; not all sufferers experience the same symptoms. However, "classic Meniere's" is considered to comprise the following four symptoms: Periodic episodes of rotary vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, and a sensation of fullness or pressure in one or both ears.

Is there anything I should I know about this drug?

I have been consistently dizzy for over a month not vertigo but bouts of dizziness. Where I will walk and have to stop and stand perfectly still or I will fall. I even have been using a walking stick. I called my Doctor yesterday after I fell down my steps :o and told her I need something I can't take this dizziness anymore. So far I am in love with it.

One of the doctors (veterinarian) I work with suggested it, but cause he has a friend who has been battling Meniere's for years, and I tried it, and I'm in love with it, too... Really helps the nausea and even seems to help the spins. It doesn't knock me out either, I was even able to work after taking it.

I had NO idea you weren't prescribed meclizine before. WOW!!!!!! That's usually the first thing they give you for dizziness. I just have no words for your docs (and I now know one of them - lol).

My insurance won't cover meclizine and I still take it. Thankfully, it's rather inexpensive even without the insurance.

I hope the meclizine gives you the relief that you've been looking for. It's about time!!!!

Well as you know they removed my diagnoses of Meniere's per Doctor Samy saying too. His whole things was my hearing is bilateral whatever like I said he didn't listen and ignored my test results. Anyway I am going to see the nero on the 22nd then back to ENT with those results.

You don't need to have MD to get a prescription for Meclizine. It's used for all types of dizziness & vertigo. I was first prescribed it years ago because my allergies were so bad I'd get sinus infections that started causing dizziness.....they gave me meclizine to help. I have a co-worker that had a vertigo attack, ended up at the ER, ran a bunch of tests, have no idea what caused it, and sent her home with meclizine (see where I'm going with this! :)

That's why I was so surprised that none of the docs you've seen prescribed it to you!! I have no idea why they let you suffer for so long??? Really glad it's working for you!!! :) I really hope you have some better days ahead!

It has really saved me from having to leave work or having to find a ride home! My prescription is for 25mg and I take 1/2 of a pill. If that doesn't work, then I take the other half.

It worked yesterday and I can tell its working today but for some reason I need a bit more then yesterday I am assuming its this lovely weather we are having rainy drippy mess.
