Meniere's Disease Support Group
Meniere's disease is a balance disorder of the inner ear. The symptoms of Meniere's are variable; not all sufferers experience the same symptoms. However, "classic Meniere's" is considered to comprise the following four symptoms: Periodic episodes of rotary vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, and a sensation of fullness or pressure in one or both ears.
I bumped into a lady at the store in the coffee isle I was trying to get something and swayed into her. I apologized and she laughed and said. I am getting coffee for sister she falls into me all the time I am sort of used to the sudden impact. I looked at her in a funny way and she said my sister has Menieres she needs decafe but they don't have any good flavors here I will probably go to bed bath and beyond, I said I have Menieres can I be your sister too. She teared up and hugged me she no one is all I can handle but you can fall into me anytime you want she walked away crying. I knew she got it. A stranger got it did my heart some good, To know these people who care and understand are really out there.
I ended up talking to someone on the phone today who had it at 14 years old!!!! They had it for over a year and then it burned out and they haven't had a bad attack for 14 years. Occasional mild symptoms when they are sick and partial hearing loss but that's it. If only we all could be that lucky!
