Meniere's disease is a balance disorder of the inner ear. The symptoms of Meniere's are variable; not all sufferers experience the same symptoms. However, "classic Meniere's" is considered to comprise the following four symptoms: Periodic episodes of rotary vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, and a sensation of fullness or pressure in one or both ears.
HI everyone, I was recently diagnosed with MD. I few weeks before my diagnosed, I was really depressed so I was given an antidepressant called Mirtazapine. After taking the drug for a week, the sudden ear fullness appeared then the tinnitus started. I was given prednisone for 10 days and taking the drug the fullness in the ear got a little better but still there. Then after a week, I took Mirtazapine again to help with depression, my ear fullness got worse the next day.
Has anyone experience a reaction/trigger from taking Mirtazapine or any drugs. I don't know if it's the drug or because of my stress that is making my MD worse.
The fullness in my ear has been going on since MD started which is about 2 months ago. Usually how long does the attack last?

Were you prescribed any other medications for Meniere's?
I have otosclerosis on my left ear and that triggered my miniere disease. I was diagnosed by an Ent surgeons 2 months ago. I have the clogged hearing and ringing in my right ear, I don’t have vertigo and I pray that I will never have to experience that, The muffled hearing is so annoying and it’s making my hearing worse, I’ve had it for almost 6 weeks and I’m hoping it will go away soon.
Does anyone know usually how long does the muffled hearing last?
I have tinnitus more strongly in my left ear, and though my hearing test says my right ear hears better, I can't hear people talking on a phone with it. I have to use speakerphone anyway, due to having hyperacusis now. Regular noises sound 10 times louder to me. I recently got custom musician's ear plugs and they help in noisy crowd conditions. But there can be rebound increased tinnitus and hyperacusis after removing them, depending on how long I was using them.
I guess I could describe my right ear as feeling a little full all the time, and sound muffled a bit. But it depends on the kind of sound. I am high-frequency intolerant and I've been that way my whole life.
My tinnitus sound resembles the electronic tones they use for hearing tests. A high pitched frequency kind of noise. Always there. I am not always successful in habituating.
I also have ME/CFS so anything added on top of that just makes my day (sarcasm). I'm in my 60s, and was dx with ME/CFS in my 30s. So I've been sick basically half my life.
