Meniere's Disease Support Group
Meniere's disease is a balance disorder of the inner ear. The symptoms of Meniere's are variable; not all sufferers experience the same symptoms. However, "classic Meniere's" is considered to comprise the following four symptoms: Periodic episodes of rotary vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, and a sensation of fullness or pressure in one or both ears.

I had it as well, but had the warm/cool air instead of the water. And it was very difficult and uncomfortable. Maybe the air is better than the water or maybe it's because I have more dizziness issues than vertigo, but I didn't experience anything like that. I'm so sorry - that sounds just awful!!! :(
I've had the test twice. The second time wasn't as bad but, of course, I puked. It is causing the horrrible vertigo - something we with Meniere's live with. You would think the "testers" would be more compassionate! Both times they were shocked I puked. I guess it takes a LONG TIME for the ear to die...
Well let me tell you it lifted me off the table as I cryed it was so very painful want to know the worst part? I had no reaction to this being done to both ears. and that my friends meant that my vestibular nerve wasn't working, hence the unbalance feeling I always had. I thought I was just a klutz lol long story short had to be refured to a top nuralogist at jfk hosp in nj had rotory chair test goggle test another vng but did no cold water it was written on the order test in bold letters NO COLD WATER IN EARS!!! meniers stinks I can now not resume my job and had to to give up driving due to the vertigo attacks I just lost my job since my doctor said after all test results came in you can no longer work at any job I had to sign up for ssd . been diagnosed with meniers, mav, vestibular disfuction this desiease had ruined my life, but I do tell my self at least its not terminal and you aren't going to die from it.

I am lucky to be alive, thanks to the DR's and Nurses.
I had numerous test after I came out of R.H.H, like closing my eye's unsupported, the nurse screamed open your eye's I was falling backwards, nearly flattened her. another test was trying to stand on a ball thing shaped like Saturn, no chance.
I was Told to go hom and return If it gets any better, and to date still no change.
I had the test with warm-water In both ears, then cold-water, then freezing cold air, In 2008 at QA-Hospital I had no reaction in both ears to anything, My balance Is shot to pieces, I used to walk through town like a drunk, bumping into people, then my DAD had an illness, and needed help with walking, so my sister suggested I get DAD a three-wheeled-walker I bought him, when I got it home, to DAD's, I tried it out myself and I could walk straight, without wobbling, I now walk with the aid of a three-wheeled-walker. I didn't pinch my DAD's I bought my own.
