Last summer when I was diagnosed with Meniere's, I had all kinds of issues, including brain fog. Someone recommended that I take ginkgo biloba. It seemed to help. May want to research this, and see if it can help you.

i realize this is scary. I have those episodes daily,, but I also have fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue, and severe depression. I am sorry to say I haven't found anything to help. Hopefully you will be more fortunate.

Yes, the dizziness knocks all the thoughts out of my head sometimes. I watch TV & Movies and cannot tell you the actor's names. I have to put it on pause or mute, then close my eyes, and concentrate ... and there it comes. It's all in there, but seems to be getting trounced by the constant work my head is doing to make sure I'm not falling out of a plane. I feel like I must be on constant alert, so no room for the mundane stuff like "where's that Metro station?" and "what year is it?"

I called my friend one day BAWLING, because I was getting lost at every turn on my delivery route. 20 years I've lived here, and 8 years I've driven the same streets on a weekly basis. And that week I was missing exits left and right. It really scared the crap out of me. I was totally having a nervous breakdown because I thought I must have brain damage. I had a good cry, and turned to a couple of friends to talk it over, since my partner can't hear another word of it. And eventually, I decided I don't have brain damage or Alzheimer's -- so calm down.

It hasn't been such a problem since then, but I still get hits by waves of inability to recognize where I am. The right side knows that I am exactly where I'm supposed to, but the left side is lost, and freaks out -- the left side is where I have my ear problem. All tests show I'm healthy in all areas though stressed out and in need of exercise. (Ugh, movement.)

And, as someone who doesn't have much cash coming in, I hate to admit that having an iPhone with GPS maps and Google Search is very reassuring. (I do wish the AT&T plan cost half as much, though.) I can definitely figure out a map or look up whatever it is I've forgotten that way.

i understand....in addition to the psyiological aspect MD constantly pre-occupies the resources of the brain....to the extent that everything else is almost and afterthought or distraction. Im thinking in those great moments between attacks the fog lifts a bit as you are able to focus your mind and mental resources on something besides this horrible disease...bballokie
