Meniere's Disease Support Group
Meniere's disease is a balance disorder of the inner ear. The symptoms of Meniere's are variable; not all sufferers experience the same symptoms. However, "classic Meniere's" is considered to comprise the following four symptoms: Periodic episodes of rotary vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, and a sensation of fullness or pressure in one or both ears.
I'm feeling pretty nervous about flying out of town. I have contacted my ENT office about giving me a burst of prednisone before I leave as a proactive choice, in case I have a flare-up do to stress and flying. Going to a certification class and for 4 days school, I really nervous if my hearing drops or the vertigo kicks in. Has anyone suffered from flying on a plane?
I have heard some people have good luck from using the "ear planes" ear plugs. Heck, I used to use those before ever having M.D. You can get them at most drug stores.....Walmart and Walgreen's for sure. You just put them in before you take off and before you land.
