Meniere's disease is a balance disorder of the inner ear. The symptoms of Meniere's are variable; not all sufferers experience the same symptoms. However, "classic Meniere's" is considered to comprise the following four symptoms: Periodic episodes of rotary vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, and a sensation of fullness or pressure in one or both ears.

eyes dart when eyes closed

eyes keep darting about when closed, does this happen to anyone else? Sorry, but always nice to remember there are a lot of us, just spread out.
This is driving me batty. Had given up glasses i need (thyroid eye disease), to help the menniers shortly after diag, Tried my new reading script, amazing how well i can read, no squinting, nice right, hah! now i cant see anything else clearly when not wearing them, guess my eyes had strenghthened, not like i drive. but the nausea vomiting have been horrible. the constant eyes darting when i close my eyes is bothering my sleep, ugh.

My eyes dart too. I wear a mask at night to help. It also helps to not watch tv or use computer for 1/2 hour or so before I go to bed. Be well

I have the same issue with the eyes darting. I have all three risk factors for Meniere's. Head injuries, allergies, and I caught a virus somehow. Not getting enough sleep could cause this. Are you keeping your sodium under 2000 mgs? Are you cutting out caffeine out of your diet and diet sodas? Have you consulted with a chiropractor? Too much carbohydrates can be a trigger. I have had severe hearing loss and thank God for a Company called ReSound that paired up with Apple and now I am able to adjust volume in each ear and adjust Treble and Bass. I think my MD is neurological but my ENT DR. thinks it was triggered by my sewage leaking in my apartment 8 times (But unable to prove it) at the time. I finally got out of my lease. Please let us or me know if these helpful hints help you. I also have had several rounds of Prednisone to reduce the inflammation in the inner ear that has helped. At the beginning I went 12 months without any symptoms but dummy me did pay attention when I started dating and eating out again. I learned a HARD lesson. God bless you.

I also get the eye-darting, it's really awful and can make it difficult to sleep at times. I don't have it constantly but it will come in bouts, lasting anywhere from one to three weeks.

I have Meniere's in both ears and is combined with other things like Oscillopsia -- which makes doing anything really challenging.

I'm not sure what causes mine. I just wanted to reach out to say you're not alone. This can be a very isolated condition, at least that's my experience.
