Meniere's disease is a balance disorder of the inner ear. The symptoms of Meniere's are variable; not all sufferers experience the same symptoms. However, "classic Meniere's" is considered to comprise the following four symptoms: Periodic episodes of rotary vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, and a sensation of fullness or pressure in one or both ears.

ENT Nurse

So I got a call from the ENT's nurse that I needed to make an appointment to discuss my test results. I would assume that is never good. I have an appointment at 10am on Monday.... I told her to put me on the list to call me if there was a cancelation. Why can't they just tell you on the phone :(.

The only allowable answer over the phone is that "you appear normal". Don't get over anxious because many test have false positives and very in degree of problem. Your doctor is mainly concerned that you understand the findings or that they are inconclusive and he/she needs to discuss with you the next step in treatment. For example, do you need further testing. I have had the same call before, in my case it was to inform me that the machine that did the testing (nuclear scan test) did not work. The second time was to inform me that the surgery that I thought was needed was now optional.

It isn't always a bad thing when the Dr. wants to see you it can be many things but you need to be informed and may have to weigh options for treatment. I wouldn't want to do this over the phone, besides doctors can be seen most of the time only on appointment basis.
