For me, if I'm in full-blown vertigo (not just dizzies or tilting), then there is nothing I can do but lie down and wait. If I try to move around, it makes it worse.

Sorry, I know that doesn't help much. Try to remember that it will pass. So sorry you're having a bad day.

For me its same as for newto if i move the whole world is moving with me and that make me throw up. the only thing I can do is to sit still and wait for it to go away or for myself to fall asleep from exhaustion. Sorry. Stay strong, you know the good days are coming.

Ditto, I need to sit in a recliner (semi reclined) focus my eyes on something steady. I have found if I shut my eyes the vertigo is worse.
and stare at the object, it is my way of getting through the vertigo. And I hold on to the armrest of the chair, I think holding on reassures my brain that the chair is not moving.

Thank you all, for your support. I laid on my couch propped up for the most and was finally able to fall asleep from the exhaustion. I am still very off balance but for the most part the vertigo is gone. I pray with all my heart tomorrow will be a much better day for us all!

Oh catalinav, I feel for you! I can feel another drop attack coming on, as the pressure in my ear is getting unbearable, and that tends to let me know that an attack is imminent.
For me, an attack takes over everything completely. I cannot do anything except lie flat on the floor on my right side (that is my problem ear), while I periodically vomit uncontrollably. And if my stomach is empty, I dry-heave for tens of minutes on end. Sorry if that was too much information, but I can think of absolutely nothing worse than a drop-attack, and I get them very bad. They tend to last between 6 and 48 hours. And sadly there is nothing that works for me except waiting for it to pass. The doctor gave me buccastem to put between my top lip and gum when I get an attack, but it has no effect on me. If an attack is going to come, it comes and stays in full force. It tends to take me about 3 or 4 days to recover fully afterwards.
All I can tell you is that you are not alone. And at least the attacks pass again.

@ bush, yes thank you 80% better. I had physical therapy agai this morning, I must admit I was a little scared to go because I knew she was going to "spin" me. But I did good and was able to get through with little problem. They decided not to put me into the pool for that part of the therapy simply because she said I was still unstalbe to hopefully next week I can go back in and do my balance exercises. So for now I pray for a long remission at least from the drop attacks. Thank you so much for asking. God bless!

I'm with bushlillie ~ drop attacks suck the life right out of you. If I blink, I vomit, if I breath in, I vomit, if I move "AT ALL", I vomit. I've gone for 6 full hours with one, and like bushlillie said, even when there couldn't possibly be anything left (in your entire guts), sure enough the heaving continues. I find myself begging to just get knocked unconcious. My left ear is "screaming" as I type. I know it's coming..... :(

Does the spinning occur constantly? I am not sure i could even live through that :(((( I am so terrified just thinking about it! I have short bursts but the longest I have had vertigo last is about a minute and a half...then it stops for a few minutes and comes back.....repeat. I can't imagine it NOT STOPPING for hours or days!

Thank you all. @ Jackie, no the spinning doesnt last for hours for me at least not straight. When I had my attack it lasted about what seemed like an hour and then it was sever dizziness the rest of the day, but through out the day I was getting the vertigo and it would last seconds. I would say I was getting them about every 30 min or so. I had the sever nausea, I was not able to eat till about 4 that afternoon. I am now going on my third day since the attack and still feeling the effects. Right now I am laying on the couch holding on to the frame just so that I can try to get comfortable and hopefully fall asleep. This has been a long attack even though things have calmed down some. I am just exhausted.

My vertigo lasts for a little over a minute, will stop, then start again. I fall a lot when I turn my head too quickly to the left. i have always been very active and health conscience, I am not used to this slow moving waddle that my life has turned into. I am starting to have aches and pains from holding my body in odd positions to keep from spinning or being dizzy.
