Meniere's disease is a balance disorder of the inner ear. The symptoms of Meniere's are variable; not all sufferers experience the same symptoms. However, "classic Meniere's" is considered to comprise the following four symptoms: Periodic episodes of rotary vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, and a sensation of fullness or pressure in one or both ears.

Dizziness versus blackout feeling

I have yet to be diagnosed I will be seeing Ent on Wednesday. Symptoms have been bad for weeks. I was wondering I have read a lot of posts talking about getting dizzy symptoms. I have had most of my worst attacks when the pressure seems to build very strong in the back of my head and I almost drop or what I would call blackout but don't blackout. Theses symptoms seem to come fast and hard versus say having a vertigo attack and getting dizzy which seems to be about evening out between the both. Does anyone have similar differences. The blackout symptoms are a lot scarier and come sometimes out of nowhere.

Yes. That describes the feeling very well. I used to think it was diabetes developing, or a heart condition beginning. It scared me more not knowing and sent into a perceived panic attack (what I call the homing beacon..must get out...go home. GOT SO BAD WENT TO ER....ANYWAY, NO DIAGNOSES EITHER UNTIL A COU[LE WEEKS AGO.
No longer eellike doing....anything...and pretty much don't. My ENT is March 15.

This sounds like an old wives tale, but I have heard and read that fresh ginger tea helps with vertigo, dizziness and nausea. I am going to try it soon. Meclizine.helps also. Over the counter and fairly cheap. I haven't found anything for the 24/7 ringing tinnitus.
I have now started getting migraines[headaches)also .

One day I was driving to work and I felt what seemed to me like I was going to pass out. I had to pull over until the feeling passed. For the next couple of weeks it would happen on and off. I did at the time have a bad sinus infection. I have never had any problems with my ears until that time. I had an extremely bad ear infection. After a really bad attack on my way home one evening I had the person that car pools with me to take me to the ER. I started out having several tests on my heart to rule out heart problems. After that i started seeing the ENT. After all of the eye tests they determined I have Meniere's Syndrom. Now I do not have the ringing in my ears nor do I have any hearing loss. The only time I feel these pass-out or dizzy spells is when I am driving and since I now have anxiety. I feel like my whole independence has been taken away from me. Sometimes I think I may need to see a Nuro just to be sure there is not something else going on. At this point I would try anything.
