Meniere's Disease Support Group
Meniere's disease is a balance disorder of the inner ear. The symptoms of Meniere's are variable; not all sufferers experience the same symptoms. However, "classic Meniere's" is considered to comprise the following four symptoms: Periodic episodes of rotary vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, and a sensation of fullness or pressure in one or both ears.
And tell your husband I'm sorry for how he feels and I've felt the same way. I've told my wife several times that I felt so bad I wasn't sure I'd wake up the next day. It's an extremely tough thing to go through.
My heart goes out to your husband; we've all been there and I still have days when it seems unbearable. Today is a miserable day for me because we have storms and I had some spinning first thing before I got out of bed-- but I got up, picked up my cane and came to work anyway--not because I really have to--but because I get so depressed when I'm at home isolated from people. I wish Steve could find something that he's able to do from home to give him a sense of being productive again. It works wonders for depression just to feel that you can contribute something. Some days I feel that my whole life had been stolen bit by bit, but it's important to fight for every lit bit we can. My doctor has already suggested that I quit work because he thinks the stress is too much for me. I have resisted because I know that I will just wither away if I have no contact with the outside world. Some days it is so tempting to just give up.......but we can't let that happen to your husband! You are both in my prayers. Please remind Steve that God is in control and there are people here who care. Just keep plugging away and trying new doctors and treatments until it's bearable again.
Does he take valium? It's the easiest and least destructive way to control it for most people. It suppresses the bad signals that are being sent to the brain from the damage MD has caused. It's the only thing that lets me function in an upright position.
God bless you both.

Myself, I am a coffee nut, doesn't trigger it most of the time but I am sure some days it is to blame. I juggle decaf and regular and cut it all off the 2:00 PM.
God bless, not easy dealing with this conditions. Salt is still the big deal.
