I use to go to a chiro. I have not gone for about 2 years. It did not help me, but maybe it depends on how they adjust you. I will tell though
through the help of my chiro. putting me on a anti- inflammation diet, my life has been so much better, I have not had a major attack in years. I do have about 3 times a year drop attacks. I am able to go out
and eat with my family, go shopping. I finally have somewhat of a life back. It is not a cure but I am able to live with out meds.

I am in the process of getting adjusted with my chiropractor that practices Nucca Chiropractic adjustments. They aim that adjusting the "atlas" which sits on top of the cervical and under the brain. Their whole goal is to make sure your neck/ cervical is straight as possible so that it allows your body to communicate with the brain effectively. Have you already gotten x-rays from your chiropractor? One thing I noticed from the chiropractor is my tinnitus went from a medium pitch to a low pitch sound and my attacks are not as heavy anymore but I still do get some dizziness. My head was tilted to the left and back and I had a whole half inch difference from one leg to the other in length. They were able to straighten my head correctly and get my legs to be lined up right. I dont see myself ever leaving the chiropractor based on the results I got.

Can you please give me a rough idea what exactly is a anti inflammatory diet ? I have been wanting to get on that myself to see if it would work for me.

szafar, Here is a web sight that will give you some information on what to eat and what not. About.com Nutrition type in anti-inflammation diet. There are also plenty of books out there on this. I still watch my sodium but not as much as the other. If you try the anti-inflammation diet and it works please let me know. Like I say
it is not a cure, but it has done wonders for me.

I went to a chiro for many years and finally found one who uses the nucca treatment. With my chiro adjustment I also got a Sacral Cranial massage which is the one thing I can say has helped. The first time I went, I thought I was going to fly off the table and the massage guy took his hands off my head. We both got our bearings and started again. It did help, but I had to go at least twice a week at first and eventually down to every other week. Then I found I had arthritis in my neck and started that pt and this pt is doing dry needling to get the correct muscles to do the correct things. I feel just like I did at the chiro, but this lasts until the next visit. But I guess if you don't have arthritis in your neck, the dry needling wouldn't help. lol But see if you can find someone who does the Sacral Cranial massage. It really did help after awhile. I didn't feel like I had this pinball banging around in my head making me dizzy.

I was diagnosed with Meniere's last summer. Someone recommended that I look into Upper Cervical Care. I was hesitant at first, had to drive 2 hours away and had to go through a process to see if I was a candidate for treatment. Long story short, have been receiving treatment for less than a year and feel 90-95% back to my pre-meniere's condition. No more loud noise in my ear, balance back to normal, and pretty much off the low sodium diet. I highly recommend you looking into this. Hope it helps you as it has helped me and many others suffering with Meniere's.

hey ruth...where are you in az....i own 4 properties in surprise although I basically live in OK. Im sorta on the edge of a Meniere's diagnosis.....have seen an ent and neurotologist.....have tinnitus and high tone hearing loss and imbalance....so far no servere vertigo or I dont feel real pressure of fullness that I see described by folks in this forum....I spoke with a chiro today and am seeing him Thursday(July 5)....is there information of "specialist chiros" for Meniere's type issues? any information or thoughts would be appreciated....what did your guy do that seemed to help you so much....thanks bballokie mike

Hi Mike, I live in Tucson, AZ. I would ask your chiropractor if he/she does upper cervical treatment. They believe that adjusting the upper two vertebraes will relieve the pressure on the nerves going into the spine. You have to be a candidate for treatment, basically out of alignment to be able to help put you in alignment. It has done wonders for me...back to living my life, no more roaring noise in my ear, balance back to normal, working, driving and taking care of my family again. I know it can't help everyone but I am a testimony to what it has done for me. If you research Upper Cervical Care, I went to the Scottsdale location. After a really rough year, I found a great article on upper cervical treatment and roughly 8 weeks ago embarked on that journey. The tests showed my upper spine was severely misaligned. After about three weeks, I woke up feeling almost entirely normal and remained that way until last week. I hadn't had a spell since halloween. Last week, my ear stuffed up and the tinnitus started. This week I've had three small spells. The good news is, they've been short and bearable with very little nausea. However, I'm afraid this is a sign of things to come. My uc doc says everyone experiences a "retracing" slump at 6 to 8 weeks and the fact that the spells are shorter and less violent is a good sign. Can somebody give me some positive feedback about their experience with upper cervical treatment? Did you have a retracing period? How long did it last? Please no horror stories, I don't need my anxiety to go anymore off the rails than it already is.
