I think the brain fog and feeling weak are more noticeable after vertigo or dizzy episodes. It might also be your reaction to your meds. Eat wisely, drink lots of water, get plenty of rest and hopefully you will see an improvement. These symptoms DEMAND time. Be patient. Hope you feel better soon.

I agrees with Rachel. You need to rest. After two days of bed rest I notice brain fog.

Hi Mulkie I too have had episodes of brain fog real bad,I once ran the tap in the kitchen sink and walked away and left it...I flooded my whole kitchen,I struggle with getting words out too....ur not alone :))

I used to get brain fog bad, what finally happen was a tube was placed in my bad air and it equalized the pressure, no more brain fog. I still get memory lapses, but the fog has lifted.

hi fayle, thanx for your reply. was the operation to put a tube in your ear complicated. and how long ago did you have this done? if you had dizziness and vertigo before the placement of the tube did it help these symptons also? i would really like to know more about your experience. i am new to this site and really appreciate all i have learned from everyone's experiences with this horrible disease.

Thank you for the post. I just read information regarding Meniere's Disease and Alzheimer's. Those with MD are 50% more likely to get Alzheimer's. That is a little scary. Monday was my day for the worst brain lapse I've ever had... Needless to say, I could laugh about the idiotic things I did because my brain was not registering.

I keep taking little tests to make sure I don't have early onset Alzheimer's. Luckily, I don't have Alzheimer's in family history.

Everything you are saying is common with Meniere's unfortunately. If you look back at the posts, some people fly with no problem, other have different experiences, so it's pretty individual. When I'm freaked about having an "episode" even before I have any preempting symptoms, but just have the brain fog and fullness feeling in my ear...I take 50 mg. of Meclizine twice a day(and this was recommended by an ER Dr., not just something I came up with), 5 mg. Xanax (or Lorazepam or the Valium you're taking is also recommended), and the sublingual zofran seemks to work better and more rapidly to prevent or diminish effects of throwing up. This is warded off a severe episode for a month now. Brain fog still there, but minimal. It's frustrating because you never know when you're going to have a severe episode, so carry a plastic bag with you everywhere just in case you do end up throwing up!! Ladies who have had success in "curing" Meniere's, although there is no CURE, but SERC( betahistine dihydrochloride) seems to be the medication that keeps Meniere's at bay for long periods of time (one lady I know had no episodes for 10 years after SERC...and she's still symptom free altho has hearing loss a definite side effect of Menieres). Not available in USA although some say you can get a compounding pharmacy to make it up for you. Otherwise it's a matter of getting a prescription from a doctor and sending it to a pharmacy in Canada where it is available...also UK, Australia, etc. Hope this helps a little!!! Good luck to you.
