Meniere's disease is a balance disorder of the inner ear. The symptoms of Meniere's are variable; not all sufferers experience the same symptoms. However, "classic Meniere's" is considered to comprise the following four symptoms: Periodic episodes of rotary vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, and a sensation of fullness or pressure in one or both ears.

Am a bit nervous about next month appointment with the Neruo-otolagy. Why? Because both the ENT and my MD doctor said there is nothing can be done. Mine is too active. Part of me do not want to go. But if I do not my hope of getting a hearing aid is zero.

I want to say thanks to all of you on this support group. At times I just sign on and read and does not feel like wanting to be part of this group. Why? I was giving up cause of discouragement. But each time I just sign in to look. One of you were being encouraging someone else which in turn encourages me.

I am doing my best to hold on to God. But i am very moody a lot lately. Plus I have being sick MD the last two weeks.

I'm so sorry! I imagine it's hard to hear that the doctors can't do anything. Are there any other doctors you can get a 2nd opinion from? Keep us informed how the appointment goes!

Hi rose07042k: hang in there (I know those are just e-z words to say) but everyone here in some way knows how you feel and truth be told has felt the same way. I came to this site a few weeks ago and my mood is much better. Don't give up and remember God is always with you. Stay strong.

Hi Rose70742k, What you are feeling is very normal and we can all relate to those feelings. After 35 years of MD I still have my share and just recently had to work hard on my anxiety level caused by a change in my symptoms that I didn't like. Acceptence has always been my goal but it is hard along the way. Stay strong and live for today.

Hi Rose. I am in the same boat as you. I have my neurotology appt next week and do not know what can be done. I am not bad enough for the drastic stuff but have episodes every week. I have already compensated so I don't know if vestibular rehab will help. Tell you what. You share what you learn and I will share what I find out. Maybe we will get some good news out of it.

I'm so glad you come here to read. You are so right about the encouragement. People helping people. People understanding people. It is all helpful. Keep your positives in front of you and enjoy the moments you feel well. Take special note of them. And let God hold you.

I so get what ur saying I been threw to many docs if u ask me but my brain doc is the best and always makes me laugh and is so truthful to me and even talks about him and his family not to many docs like that but even with good docs I go threw so tiered of having all the md crap on top of other health issues its depressing then on better days I get my fight back hard find it when u feel so ill just hold as much as possible but the road is not easy for none of us......xoxox for ur bad days

Please don't give up. I went to 4 doctors (including 3 specialists) who couldn't help me, until finally, on the 5th try, I found someone who knew what to do and got my vertigo under control.

Yea. My neuro is only one visit. Like right now its ringing and numb and its loud. I was sick for two week up to Sunday. V R will not work they said. She said I have active MD and basically nothing can be done. Maybe I should take the shot that may make me go deaf. But am scared it will hurt. I cannot or do not like needle. Maybe my neuro doctor will be better. I may get counseling but have to do the intake which may be now til next Wednesday. I have caring friends and church family but its....., I will let you know about the appointment its Jan 8, 2014. Being busy at work is the best, I do not think about it.
