i have had meniere"s symptoms since 2001. just had roaring in my right ear and some hearing loss for about 4 years then one day i had a bad vertigo attack. i was up on a lift working on a house and it was springtime and had been cold but warmed up that evening .i started feeling kinda hot and weird and figured i had too many clothes on, so i took off my coveralls and coat and that did not help. i started getting dizzy and the world was going by my eyes sideways. i had to get my dad to let me down to the ground and by the time i got there i was really sick. i could not walk straight and fell to the ground and could not help but to vomit over and over. this would not stop, it went on for about 2 hours then my dad took me to a local clinic. i thought we would never get there. i was still deathly sick and continued to vomit in the parking lot. i practically had to crawl in the door and the only way i could maintain any sense of being was to focus on one spot on the wall. when the doctor saw me he gave me a shot of something and i was still sick. later he gave me another after a while the sickness went away. it had been about 4 hours. the next few days i was so tired i could hardly move. this happened on a thursday and on monday it seemed i was still exhausted. i went to my doctor later and told him about this event and he had a hearing test and mdi setup. he later told me he thought i had menierie"s. the symptoms went away for about 3 or 4 years then came back worse. for about a year and a half i had vertigo attacks daily and found it almost impossible to work. my doctor tried different medicines finally the meclizine and valium helped a lot. mostly the valium. still i have had attacks in the last few years. two in the last six months some days i feel like i am just off balance for a week or more. this has changed my life. i am still working , hope i still can.
