Meniere's Disease Support Group
Meniere's disease is a balance disorder of the inner ear. The symptoms of Meniere's are variable; not all sufferers experience the same symptoms. However, "classic Meniere's" is considered to comprise the following four symptoms: Periodic episodes of rotary vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, and a sensation of fullness or pressure in one or both ears.
How about, every time you crave a cigarette, instead, you drink a glass of water. That would be two plusses in your life at the same time.
If Joe Shmo down the street could give up smoking, why can't you? Well, there is no answer, because you CAN, you MUST and you WILL!!!!!
So start right away, and best of luck and keep us posted.
Best wishes to ya
I just read up on Chantix, I think some of the side effects, nausia ect are similar to what you would be getting on Meniere's and you probably wouldn't notice a big difference in that regurard. I would like to take off on coments made by Manaci and Manvertigo who both seemed very motivated when they quit. Manaci hints at switching behavors and rewarding one self as ways to stay motivated. I would suggest starting a jug and spend your weekly budget you spent on smoking to save for something you really want. I see you fish, how about a new motor or trailer for the boat. Perhaps a trip to some great fishing location? The truth is after reading the statistics (in my opinion) non of these aids are statistically significant above the placibo. You maybe increasing your sucess ratio by 10 or 15% with the drug. That is better than most products on the market but will probably not do the job on its own. Manvertigo had a stroke and I would not wish that on anyone but understand his motivation. Finding a partner to quit with or someone to help you keep accountable maybe another option. Nicotine is added to cigaretes which makes them adictictive, that is not fair. Good luck during this trial period, it takes 2 to 3 weeks to change behavior. Manaci is right you ..."CAN, you MUST and you WILL!!!!! That goes for you Kim too, I know when the time comes you will kick it also!
God Bless!

I might owe you an appology, I spoke with the third person in a row this week who has quite smoking with the help of Chantix! I am now getting a bit more excited about this helping people who smoke. My whole family with the exception of myself smoke and everyone wants to get off of them. Heck I wouldnt worry about the Meniere's it would be more important to kick the habit. I dont like cigarettes, my mom died of lung cancer as have other family memember who smoked, including my first wife.
I would just about do anything to see the smoking end in this country
Your buds!
