Meniere's disease is a balance disorder of the inner ear. The symptoms of Meniere's are variable; not all sufferers experience the same symptoms. However, "classic Meniere's" is considered to comprise the following four symptoms: Periodic episodes of rotary vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, and a sensation of fullness or pressure in one or both ears.
I am convinced now Diet has a lot to creating attacks , My last three in three days were brought on by using too much caffeine. and or salt I have eliminated all caffeine now and lowered my salt consumption and am feel fine so far. I can remember in the past when I eat chocolate it would give a reaction. I was using 1/2 calf coffee and decaf, but even decaf has some in it . Was drinking too much ice tea when my last attacks came about and thinking back on days I drank regular coffee I was a little off.
So no more caffeine or salty snacks for me
I also take a diuretic have been for years .
Low salt is hard because I am diabetic too so I also avoid sweets lol But feeling better is worth it

A lot doctors recommend taking a diuretic to possibly hlep cut down on excess fluids in the body and that it might help the build up in the inner ear sacs but diuretics can cause an electrolyte inbalance which affects the heart so we all have to keep a close eye on ourselves when taking all these things. If they work to help us feel better and cope then that's what we need to do.
