Meniere's Disease Support Group

Meniere's disease is a balance disorder of the inner ear. The symptoms of Meniere's are variable; not all sufferers experience the same symptoms. However, "classic Meniere's" is considered to comprise the following four symptoms: Periodic episodes of rotary vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, and a sensation of fullness or pressure in one or both ears.

Hi from Eastern Canada: Wish me luck tomorrow. I am going to TRY and get out for lunch with my friends tomorrow. I have had a fairly bad week with the imbalance and wonkiness. Combine that with the hot flashes that soak my clothes and all I feel like doing is laying down and not talking. Hopefully tomorrow I can visit with my friends. I do not socialize with many people because of the MD. I use to be social and friendly and lots of friends. Cross your fingers for me tomorrow.

Bring your emergency meds so you got something to calm you down, I hope the day isn't too long. Sit when you can. Try not to think too much about the MD. I often take a valium when I am out and at the first sign of something coming on. The rest of the afternoon goes well till I get tiered then its home and bed.

That would make for a nice day!

I hope you have a nice spin free day!!! Its so true about not socializing much with this disease . my socializing has pretty much dropped off the face of the map since getting MD . But there is always those rare good days hopefully you will have one tomorrow , good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I understand! So many people don't understand that it's hard to get out and even drive a block or 2. Sounds like you have some great friends and hopefully you will enjoy hanging out with them!!!!

Thanks for the well wishes. I was able to get out and enjoy lunch today! First time in many months maybe a year! I may push my luck and try again next week. What the heck!

Hope it went well. I can surely relate; I am an outgoing "people" person who can't get out anymore. I go to work and home--that's about all I can manage. I'm in a small office and my five co-workers are about all the socializing I get anymore. It's really a change in the quality of life after MD.

Let us know how it went. Hopefully, if you did okay, you can try again soon:)
