Medicaid is the US health insurance program for individuals and families with low incomes and resources. It is jointly funded by the states and federal government, and is managed by the states.
One of my son's is 20 years old. I qualify for state health care (in WI) but because he is past 18 he no longer qualifies. We have been dealing with an issue for over a few years but recently became totally unbearable. He needs to have surgery. He can not work or barely even move without it. He has had to keep going back to the emergency room to have it drained and to be put back on antibiotics and pain meds. I have seen this make people in the emergency room weak in the knees. This is right at the base of his tailbone/nerve endings. He is in school ttryiing to become a paramedic but he cannot even sit down, or drive. This has left him in constant pain for the last 6 months. The ER said it will not get any better until he gets the problem surgically removed. He can not because he has no insurance. I can't believe that in the United States of America we can just leave our people lithering in pain due to no health insurance. Someone, ANYone please help!

here where I live I found a program by accident at a hospital called the MIA program and ca. califorina kern country.. in hawaii they have a program Quest.. Quest refused to fix his nose but the mia program kern took 3 years to get it done .. with both programs Hospital and Dr visits were free and with the mia-ca meds were free..check out the hospitals and clinics and ask ask ask ... his did lack a bit for services but its the better then nothing ..sons 26 been with the programs 2003-2011 until the qualified for med-cal

Have you tried Medicaid or Medicare? What about a doctor he sees signing off that he needs Medicaid?

AMac91 this thread is over 2 yrs old. He wouldn't qualify for Medicare. A dr saying you need Medicaid doesn't mean you're eligible for it. It isn't based on medical needs alone. There are state hospitals where the son might be able to go and have surgery. If he has any income he will be required to pay a certain amount.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
