I have an enlarged area near the bottom of my cervical spine. It is in the shape of an inverted triangle. It surrounds the vertebrae that protrudes the most...I want to say C7?? Anyway, I am not sure what it is. It is not hot but it is painful to the touch and even contact with my clothes or hair causes discomfort. I seem to have it around other joints too, but the area of my neck is by far the most notable. My family describes it as a hump back, but not in the sense that my spine has curved. It's soft tissue or something else soft on top of my spine. It really doesn't feel like swollen joints. There is no stiffness. It really feels like fat tissue, but it perplexes me why it would be just near my joints. Anyone have an idea what it is? I'm going to ask my doctor this week, but I would love to know what you guys think!

I have had a "hunch back" since 07. My Dr. Says its due to long term use of prednisone. My hump hurts if pressed on also it's ugly too can't wear anything that will let it show I'm embarrassed.
