Mixed connective tissue disease (MCTD) or Sharp's syndrome is a human autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks the body. MCTD commonly causes joint pain/swelling, Raynaud phenomenon, muscle inflammation, and scarring of...
You are tough handling all that upheaval at home, I don't have the patience! Sounds like maybe you did too much with the watering? Can't believe they don't have a long enough hose! So glad you have managed extra rest and that it has helped.. I dream of having maybe 2 mornings a week where I could sleep in.. will remain a dream as hubby is not here often enough to take care of our son... bugger.
Also seems like a difficult decision for you regarding working or not. I really feel for you, and understand you wanting to give all your kids the same chance at college, but you also need to take care of your health!
As for me, I know I desperately need rest.. I am getting very little and feel like crap. I need more sleep, I need help with the house, the laundry.. with everything. I can't seem to get on top of anything, takes me so long to do something. BUT help is not going to come, so I need to try work out some sort of "plan of attack" regarding housework etc, and somehow time for me. Now that my son is back in kindy, I hope to at least get back to the gym, I know fully I can't do much but it helps me emotionally so much. Then i thought I could come home and sleep an extra hour or two, then try at least some housework each day... Sound like a good plan? lol Really hard for me as I was always on top of everything, house always in order, washing always done etc etc...
What I really need is to win Lotto, and have a bloody maid/housekeeper to do it all!! lol
Wishing you all marvellous days and naturally pain-free ones :)
Hugs xox
Sooooo quiet here.. where is everyone????? Hope you are all ok!
Working vs. not working: My feeling is, if you like your work, work. Being out of work sucks-- as does dealing with the EDD and job hunting, the latter means being on the computer all day and not getting paid for it!
MT, it's great that you are getting all that watering done (though yes, get the hose! And make them get a GOOD one, the cheap ones crack and break, can't believe they are allowed to sell such junk. Oughta be a law). I have been very, very disorganized of late-- I have a million errands that have nothing to do with each other, and I just can't frickin' remember them all. I am falling behind on housework, which is very frustrating...
Physically, I am okay-- just the leg and headaches.
Shingles: Yes, I had this, it was bad, but really no worse than the blood clot and only a little worse than a really bad flare that goes on and on an and on. When I got it, I was working 16 hours a day on the telethon, and I just didn't touch anyone and took pain pills at night and felt like a dog that had gotten hit by a car. (MDA took very good care of me. Now THAT was a real job!) Anyway, glad your son doesn't have it, Melissa!
This board is pretty dead, but I think a lot of us in the US are bummed about the economy and the election. No matter who you are voting for, it's just a bad reality TV show. I'm voting for Obama (though I hate all the hype) but I think the election is rigged and McCain will be selected, and I'm trying not to get depressed.
But if I were for McCain, I'd probably be depressed, too. And I hate this vibe like politics and religion are these totally taboo subjects that no one can talk about anymore. The debates are just moronic-- what a ridiculous spectacle, I'm so completely embarrassed.
The only reason I can vote for Obama and I'm not moving to New Zealand and starting a dolphin ranch is because I've actually read a lot of his economic policy, and it seems pretty sensible, and I'm reasonably convinced he will try to reform NAFTA and try not to outsource jobs to some hostile planet, but I couldn't even do that before getting tons of spam from his campaign and complaining enough so that they sent me a PDF file.
And even if he is as good a candidate as I think he is, by the time this freak show is done, he'll probably be as crazy as everyone else.
I GUESS CATALYST IS A LITTLE CRANKY TODAY, WHAT DO YOU THINK?!
Oh, well-- it beats being depressed! But I'll tell ya, some of these mood swings, they feel organic to me. I'm too old to be neurotic, I remember what that felt like, and this ain't it. Most of it is the stuff I mentioned above, but I do think the autoimmune problem just gives it a little topsin.
Best,
