swallowing a d short of breath

Does any one have throat issues and shortness of breath?
I have had all the tests and they were fine but when your throat feels like it is closing and then you feel short of breath it is scary... It seems to come and go. Then my palpitations seem to get worse and my hip and leg pain is very bad tonight. Does anyone else have these issues.

I'm new here and by no means a professional. But if you feel short of breath I'd go and get it checked out even if you have to go to the emergency room. I do though have anxiety issues and something like that made me go to Walgreens and buy a handheld pulse/ox meter. When I have an attack , its a way for me to know if I'm actually having breathing problems or if its anxiety causing it. secondly if it went below 90 to 85 pulse/ox I knew it was time to go to the hospital right away. hope you feel better soon

Could be an allergy! That will cause you to feel like that and may not show up on tests for asthma. Most Drs would say asthma and not think of an allergy, usually to food. See if it shows up after you eat something, like peanut butter or tomatoes.

I agree with Mary Ann and Living Right.

I do have swallowing issues and sometimes it seems like it causes shortness of breath but I think it is more the way I explain it...any way I had the tests done and it clearly shows I have swallowing problems.

So if you are still having problems after the tests show you swallowing is fine it very well could be anxiety or allergy keep persuing it until you find the answer.

YEP, YEP, YEP. I used to get this. Terrible and scary. However, for me it meant a vitamin imbalance. Once, I rested, took my vitamins I felt better. It took several months to get back in balance. Eat well. Rest. And try not to stress, as stress may be the cause. Easier said than done. :-/ good luck.

Yes I get that but I find it hard to pushthe air out .I can tel its in my throat but it is scary sometjmes .I have to stop and do some deep breathes in and out so I know my breathing is OK
