Gosh Marilyn, how do you guys do it with weather like that? I thought that only happened at the north pole, lol. I hope it gets better so you can, and Dallas too!
Hugs,

Ah, so happy to hear that you are all as full of holiday cheer as yours truly! Man, my wife insisted on going to TWO Targets and TWO Borders today, I was wearing bad shoes and WAY cranky.
Polar, I completely empathize with your feelings, I think the same thing a lot... But this holiday season, perhaps we can all pledge not to torture ourselves with memories of earlier Christmases when, in our minds, everything was so much more perfect. Memory plays tricks, and we forget that those Christmases had their own stress, but of a different kind...
I think, "Oh, man, in '04, we actually had time to wrap presents and stuff." I forget that in '04, I carried a Christmas tree in 34 degree freezing rain for a half mile.
Dallas, I was complaining last night because my friend T (in from New York, a rare treat) and I were walking the canine at 1:00 AM, and I was cold in my sandals because it was 39 degrees F. (I can't spell farenheit. Height. Whatever.) I still can't wear real shoes for very long. However, -42?! That's serious! And, yeah, the dogs just have to deal... my wife's family had a saying: "Sometimes, everyone has to take the hard seat."
Okay, this firelog is putting out VERY little heat, so I'd better sign off... but really, its not so bad here. A small fire, good friends and family nearby, loyal canine, avian and reptiles... perhaps I can ease into some kind of holiday spirit after all...
Seasons greetings from Hollywood,
