I'm the same, actually worse today, was so stiff and sore this morning and the exhaustion was unbelievable... could barely function. My weight is really falling too over the past few weeks.. I have ZERO interst in food and struggle to remember to eat. I don't exactly have much of a "reserve" when it comes to my weight, so need to be careful. I just feel so sick and full, and totally uninterested when I try to eat. I am finding that I am going the same way in regards to fluids now too. I just don't want to drink either.

My son was due to go back to kindy tomorrow (I was ready for a celebration of SLEEP), but now he has all these red spots over his body! I am waiting for the Dr to call, as if it is anything sinister he has to stay home! AARRRGGGHHHH! he has his 5th birthday on the 28th and his party on Nov 1st, if he has to cancel he will be so devastated. I hope with all my might it is NOT chickenpox.. not all spots have centres, but one that came yesterday now has a definite yellowy crusty centre. ugh..

Speaking of chickenpox, I have read that this can be dangerous for us.. is this true? Anyone know why???

Oh Cat, I think the reason the Dr says I should not travel is that I am not doing well right now, and he is worried the stress of the flight could set me off on another major attack like last yr... Not sure.. I do have blood clotting issues (factorV), but have to date never had one.. I usually take aspirin before flying and after...

However, this is a new Dr and he as yet doesn't know how stubborn & headstrong I am and that I do not take "NO" sitting down! LOL

Melissa- No problems with appetite for me! In fact the Medrol keeps me hungry all the time. You and Cat seem to be the opposite and I have read that it is a common problem with autoimmune dosorders in a lot of people. Of course the great Richard Simmons said that overwieght people were the only ones who ate when they had a stomach bug to 'settle their stomaches'! So sorry you feel so badly. Try to set a schedule to drink fluids of some type as you probably wont drink enough if you dont. Dehydration is not pretty! I hope a change will be in order for you soon.
Being exposed to chicken pox when you have a supressed immune system can cause you to get the pox or to get shingles. And you can get sicker than other people. Even if you have had the pox before. Usually you will get the shingles in that case, but if your immune system is depressed enough you can get chicken pox again.
Hope your son doesnt have the pox. Do you know if he was exposed? I think it would have been about 3 weeks ago. I know you had him home for awhile before the surgery. Even if that is it, he should be OK for his BD. But I dont envy your having to deal with a sick child just after his surgery. You both must be chomping at the bit for a change by this time.

Mary Ann, thanks for your great reply! You are right, I really need to set times to drink at least. I actually tonight started having a bottle of water and a glass beside me which I keep filled.. is helping me a bit! As for the food, tonight I cooked beef & vegie soup and managed to get down "enough".. so I feel like I accomplished the food battle today! lol

My son would have only been at kindy & karate 3 weeks ago. He has been home from kindy 2 weeks on Fri. The spots are weird, but I got worried when I saw this crusty stuff in the one on his face. I will take him in to the Dr tomorrow. That is scary that we can get shingles from chickenpox, I knew someone who had it and it was nasty business.... I don't need that!

Oh well, fingers crossed that is not what he has! lol

hi everyone, been awhile since i've been involved but life is pretty busy here, always was, but now worse with my husband gone. sorry your still having a hard time melissa, hope you get some relief today. wow, mary ann maybe you'll make the paper, lol. they must be doing a noumber on your place. rheumy upped my plaquenil and orudis, starting to function a little better the last week- not waking up full of pins and needles and morning stiffness, thank god. gotta do a whole aray of tests at the end of the month then go to the city and see him in person-only dealt with him on the phone. hope eveyone's day is well-nice to be back, christine.
