MCTD Support Group
Mixed connective tissue disease (MCTD) or Sharp's syndrome is a human autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks the body. MCTD combines features of polymyositis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and systemic scleroderma and is thus considered an overlap syndrome. MCTD commonly causes joint pain/swelling, Raynaud phenomenon, muscle inflammation, and scarring of...
As a group we are not doing to well on the roll calls. I think it is the whole slowdown as the colder weather irritates our systems. I am wondering what is the good time of year? Cold weather sets off the Raynauds, Hot weather seems to lead to sun exposure and flares....Oh well, I guess I will just try to enjoy what I can about each day. I am sorry to hear about all the medication that is being thrown at you. Trying to juggle that and not feel overwhelmed can be trying. Not to mention dealing with the side effects.
Anyway, I hope you have a good day and enjoy that steak. thanks for being constant on here.
Oddman
MT, I hear you about kids not wanting to learn to drive... sometimes, they don't want to leave the nest, learn to drive, and be part of the world... I am not a parent, but this is what my friends tell me about their kids. I think the world has gotten way too complicated, and there is a strong impulse to avoid it!
Sometimes beating the pain down will make the disease lighten it's grip... I hope that's the case for you.
I am okay today... man, my eyes hurt from staring at the computer. Oddman, these procedures at the place I'm working, they are so byzantine... so much superfluous redundancy... so many extra steps that are included for extra safety, but actually make the procedures more dangerous, so much copying files back and forth to different directories. The work flow just loops back on itself, it's like some kind of crazy not, there isn't a linear path that you can follow logically, no checklist you can go down. It scares the crap out of me, I am sure I am going to delete something important. Six hours there and I'm just exhausted, could never do this full time.
They kind of want me to help them clean it up, but we all know I don't know their shop well enough yet.
The coordinators say the extra steps don't bother anyone. I think I know the reason for that: No one is really doing them. They are all skipping steps.
As predicted: On Monday, I was probably making less than $15 per hour. Today, I was making over $60.
Wow, I'm worn out... I have to take a nap. And I can't figure out the deadlines for my application or for financial aid, they seem to be different every time I ask!
I just need a linear procedure with logical steps, where one follows sensibly from the last... all this scatterbrained, diffuse trivia is driving me nuts. I can remember a million things if they are related to each other in some discernible way. If they are unrelated, I can't remember a half dozen!
Okay, sorry to vent, thanks for listening.
