I have stopped trying to schedule sleep. Left shoulder alone? no chest pain, or anxiety. I have had a heart attack, and I have had plenty of panic attacks. the way you can tell the difference.................... you can't. If your still having this pain ask your doc today.

Thanks for the info. The pain is gone today, but it hurt all night last night. It sometimes feels like pain travels around my body! I had the right arm go completely numb and it was freezing 3 weeks ago. Such an odd disease!

Hello, I have random pain as well it's crazy weird. What I sometimes feel is pain in my left arm and it's worst at night. I have come to realize its my GERD. Don't know if it's the same scenario for you, but I understand MCTD is mega weird.

Sometimes its easy to be hyper sensitive to pain. I wonder if its just sore normal, or the beginning of something new. I try to ignore the pain and not feed into it. If it last longer than 48 hours I take note. I hope you feel better.

I get the same shoulder/upper chest pain. I have been given Nitro tabs, cardio says it is Angina. I was also told if no relief after taking 3, that I should call 911. My shoulder pain is worse when I am laying down. But so far the nitro has helped.

I also saw your other post, about the polyps. I too had the dreaded test and they found lots of polyps. I was told they were fine, but do people with MCTD get polyps. I was told that I will have to have another one next year.

I have alot of shoulder,chest pain and neck pain..Yes the Classic heart attack sx's very scary.... They just dx me with thoracic outlet syndrome???? apparently that can cause the pains i am having. I have a ardio apt on july 3 and they dont know what the heck the chest pain is... My firt tought am i haivng aheart attack then my legs hurt is this a blood clot and then cant breath pulonary emboli??? Uggggg
Then the Rheumy says well this doesnt have anything to do with the disease...Really afte hearing ll of yall i beg to differ. I am a medical Asst and have been in the meical field for 20+ yrs and The Dr I work for I tell him all the tie they are PRACTIcing medicine on me...LOL
I feel horrible for my husband also I dont even like telling him when somthing is wrong anymore I even drove myself to the ER one...I know its horrible lets al stick together.. Prayer gets me through or i prob would have lost it along time ago

My rhemy tries to tell me the pain isn't from mctd too, but then he tries to give me prednisone and elavil. Neither of those meds work for me. I don't know what is from mctd or if maybe it's fibromyalgia as well as mctd. Starting to wonder if the doctors themselves don't know and are bullshitting us.

I tend to agree that they are BSing us. The don't know squat. I'm losing my rheumy just after I got her fully broke in. I'm on the MP and have no idea if the new rheumy will accept that. We are caught between a rock and a hard place with MCTD.

any new symptom for me I just assume is MCTD. Most of them are weird and random.....and sometimes scary

My mind always goes to the worst case scenario....maybe I have a little hypochondriac in me....LOL

I have found that humour is the only thing that has gotten me through.....usually the darker the better......I must laugh through the pain, that is my therapy!

And I sleep whenever I need too.....not necessarily when Im supposed too.
