When I was first diagnosed, my rheumy took an excellent health history. She said, "I noticed that after each pregnancy, your symptoms got worse." And she was right!

I would love to know the answer to this as well. I'm newly diagnosed and my primary doctor told me that I may have a difficult time becoming pregnant...not sure if that's due to the MCTD or being anticardiolipin positive or what. I recently underwent 2 pelvic ultrasounds....the first one found a complex cervical mass so I had a hysteroscopy and d&c, and it wasn't seen but a blood clot and fibroid was removed from my uterus (benign). On repeat ultrasound no cervical mass was found (do they disappear???) but now have ovarian cysts and fluid in the cervical canal...these changes in the span of 3 months.

Anticardiolipin will cause you to have miscarriages due to clots in the placenta. Usually, you have to take aspirin or another anticoagulant to prevent this. You have had a lot of problems, it sounds like. I had 4 pregnancies. First one, I threw up for the first 5 months and the last 2. Terrible reflux! The second was a miscarriage at 4 months. The third was textbook, except for some 1st trimester bleeding that I had with all my pregnancies. The nausea was in the first 3 months with some vomiting but not out of the ordinary for pregnancy. The last was twins. Sick for all 6 and a half months with premature birth. So, there you go. Who knows what will happen to you. Good luck.

I was wondering if women having this issue have abnormal cycles - like every 2 weeks; or are more prone to infections because of the immune system issues.

I have been experiencing periods or at least spotting every 2 weeks for multiple months now. Also had one period where I bled for 6 weeks straight. I have not had any biopsies done for it, just routine pelvic and pap (negative) which didn't find anything. But, with everything else I am dealing with, every two weeks being added pain and discomfort is stressing.
