Where is Nancy? She needs to answer this question :o).

I ended up going and asking about it. My Dr didn't want to put me on it. She put me back on a lower dose of Savella 12.5 mg. So far it's not making me sick. That's a plus.

I asked my Rheumy, she never heard of it. Still in lots of pain. On plaquenil and neueonrin. As well as naprosin. My orthopedic doctors suggested a different Rheumy. He was supprised I wasnt on stronger meds. He wants to to persue that avenue before opting for total knee replacements. My rheumy thinks my knees are orthos problems since all my other joint/ pain issues have quitted down a bit. Any thoughts on embrel? Or other MCTD medications?

Well I just started Savella again about 3 weeks ago. I am seeing how this works for me. I don't think I have heard about Embrel.

I have never heard of LDN or Savella, Cymbalta or Elavil etc.
could you please explain further?

I also suffer from very severe Fibromyalgia on a regular basis and the only "thing" that has ever helped me so far is a hot bath and taking a rest on the sofa until the symptoms have become better.

I also suffer from severe drug-intolerance which is the reason why my body rarely tolerates any medications. I can't even take any pain-killers because of my drug-intolerance to most of all the medications on the market. This makes my life and my survival very complicated.

Could you please let me know what the medications you mention are all about?

YES! (sorry I haven't been around). I went on LDN for a few months. I was feeling pretty good for a while and when my symptoms returned, and I had forgotten to refill my rx, I "gave up". I'm not sure I should have, but I was feeling confused and defeated.
I think it's worth a try for you!

Savella I think is the first drug just for fibro. Cymbalta is more for depression but can work to help fight pain. I have tried a whole bunch of them. They ALL have awful side effects. It's just if you can live with them. The two I can't is the weight gain and low libido if you know what I mean.

So far, Savella is working for me. I have only one side effect that I am trying to work through. Constipation. It's really really bad. My other is vivid dreams. I know they're not real so I can cope with that one.

Let me know if you have any other questions. I have tried a lot since my diagnosis.

Truly thinking of going back on the LDN. I think I was much better off, had a flare, and just threw in the towel.
