Cortisone cream! When it gets real bad, that is what I do. Cannot put it all over every day, but upon occasion it will give relief. I also slather with lotion.

They also make clear calamine lotion which helps me, but you know you have it on.

I think I actually have something similar to calamine. I have prescription hydrocortisone for when my eyes swell shut.

Anyone ever notice a correlation between itchies and the shivers? I noticed that I had the shivers even though I was hot. That has now gone away.

I like to use Gold Bond Lotion when I get to itching too bad. Sometimes though the itching seems to be under my skin and drives me up a wall. Never noticed the itching/shivering thing though.

Sorry late to the game Gabpaul, but I had this rash that broke out a couple of weeks ago on my arm because I'm alergic to tape....anyway only thing that is helping my rash go away is this cream that is benarill maybe I miss spell it...but it can be purchase off the shelf at the drug store and gorcery stores.

But I also use gold bon on other areas because of sweating causing some and it releafs the burning too.

I guess I don't know about what to say of the shevers?

Try Apple Cider Vinegar...?

I am back again. I just went through an hour + of the severe itchies again (It started at about 2:15 EST in the US). I was writhing and wincing in discomfort while lying on the bed. I was moaning outloud and wanted to scream. My husband desperately wanted me to go to the ER, but I refused. I knew that the prescription hydrocortisone would eventually help, and I did not want to embarrass myself by going to the ER with a problem that is not life threatening. Plus, I was just at the ER 2 weeks ago for another problem

The hydrocortisone has helped a bit; I still itch all over, but I am not writhing in discomfort anymore.

Ill call the rheumy on Monday. Does anyone know of anything that works more quickly than hydrocortisone?

Id rate that hour of discomfort a 9 out of 10. I want to avoid that again! Had I been at work, I dont know what I would have done. Strip naked in my office and lie on the floor in pain?!

Wow oh wow! I am having an insane itching attack. I just took 50000 IU's of vitamin D. It happened once before but I didn't know if it was related to the vitamin. I have prescription topical steroid ointment and I took two Benadryl but nothing is helping. As soon as I scratch one spot another one starts to itch. Anyone have a similar experience? I was also suddenly having phlem, cough and difficulty breathing.

I forgot to mention my tongue has turned a deep purple / blue.

OK. Now that sounds like an allergy. Call the Dr. Could be the vitamin D or something you took earlier in the day.
