I just begged to be put on a higher dose of synthroid. I was at the bottom of the range for T4. Since I've been on the higher dose, my heart rate has increase. (It had dropped from the high 70s to 60 and lower.) I have had fewer palpatations. I think the thyroid range is just wrong, judging to my response. Also, a bit more energy.

Had some blood work done and all is considered normal, including the glucose, so I dont have diabetes. My TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) is 1.4 with the normal being .35 to 3.7. So I guess I dont need thyroid meds either. They check this all the time because it can show thyroid problems which are a major cause of arrhythimias. AnnNY, I am glad you got a good response to increasing your dose of synthroid! As my Cardiologist says, that would be an easy fix! LOL! As it is, I am on a holter monitor for 48 hours to try to figure this out. He mentioned repeating the electrophysiologic study, but it will be hard to talk me into doing that again!
Using a patient portal, I was able to get my labs in 10 hours from when they were drawn! And actually see the numbers! No more secrets.

I saw your previous post-- my diagnosises keep changing, too. First maybe depression, then lupus, then mctd. I haven't had Anas for a long time. I also had a nice long near remission. Now I have, last I heard lupus like undifferentiated connective tissue disease. Last time I had bloods drawn, I saw my rheumy wasn't even taking ANAs, so I said isn't it the least you can do. Positive low titers. Does it prove anything. It may be because I'm old 62 and fat. Oye!

A physiatrist tried me on synthroid in the 80s based on possible fibro. I went off of it thinking I didn't really need it. My brain fog and fatigue increased. Ask them to take more than the TSH. I had an ultrasound of my thyroid and it had atrophied with cysts. Anyway I wasn't expecting my heart rate to change, but I was beginning to think it would just stop in the night, but now I feel like it has gone back to normal. I had a good argument for the endo, since I knew my thyroid numbers were fine on synthroid.

Anyway, I'm doing the halter in Jan, with my new cpap, so I expect that will be a fun night.

Man, I hated that thing! They made me wear one after my beta blocker episode-- blood pressure was high, they put me on it them, my blood pressure crashed, and I discontinued abruptly-- a terrible idea, as you know, MT, both as a nurse and probably from hearing this story years ago. Catalyzt was very careless.

Hope all is well. Great seeing your labs online, isn't it? I grab those numbers and post anything weird on my medic alert USB.

Okay, that's a little paranoid.

Well, the monitor got extended for another 48 hours and I havent got the results back yet, but as usual, most of the skipping stopped as soon as I got the monitor! Anything to make it go away! LOL!
Michellle, so far, every monitor and EP study has shown PACs, PVCs, and MAT but no AF. I hope that continues to be the case!

When I asked to go back on thyroid I thought it might help my brain fog. I never thought my heat rate would return to normal and I'd stop having palpitations. Also, my cholesterol went down 50 points. I really think I might have died, all the while my numbers were "in range" particularly my TSH. T4 and t3 were borderline. And I really had to be proactive on this one.
