Nutrition is one of those slippery slopes that we all struggle with. My philosophy is try to stay as natural as possible (and within your budget) and make your calories count. I'm a sweet freak from way back...i've never met a cake or a bowl of ice cream that I didn't admire...however...I try to incorporate lots of natural protein into my diet and drink lots of water. I love fruits and veggies too. I work full time, so all natural is not realistic for me. I buy pre-packaged apple sauce and frozen lean cuisines for my lunches. I love the little 100 calorie packs too. I eat oatmeal and yogurt for breakfast...and try to keep cheese sticks and cottage cheese on hand. I do have protein bars occasionally...I particularly like CLIF bars. I have backed down to about one can of diet soda per day...but, don't always have that. I try to have a hot, home cooked meal for dinner and I try to eat a little something about every 3ish hours to control my blood sugars. I'm not diabetic, but I feel better when I do that. I splurge and have occasional treats and when we eat out, we eat at a sit down restaurant....not fast food. I did have some chicken nuggets when we went out of town over the new year holiday...but, I ran those off!! LOL.
Hope these little suggestions help!!
