Call the GP and go ASAPl This is not a problem for the rheumy. It would take you too long to get it. THis needs to be looked at. Good luck.

I posted this ? in the Fibro group too.. and got alot of great advice and yes will be calling my doctor to find out why ???

Also learned a number of things could possibly be setting this off !

Stress being one of them and God knows I have enough of that !
Alot of it is from my own health and then theres the tention from the 2 little ones 6 and 3 ,, so I really have to get that under control.

Also read online that my Thyroid could be a factor ! I have had this checked a few times this year and over the last few and know that it always seems to come in just under normal,but my doctors want say I do or I don't have Hypo. just to keep an eye on it ..

with my IH I'm almost running one eye short ,lol all kidding aside I will be checking with my Doctor because it does concern me ..

I would get to a GP or cardiologist ASAP! dont' mess around where your heart is concerned... keep us posted!

I get them every once in a while, but if they started all the time, I would be concerned. My mom is a nurse and works in cardiac rehab, and she said you should go to your gp asap. He will probably listen to your heart and all that and maybe send you for a stress test, which is no big deal, just on a treadmill with a heart monitor on. Or, they might send you home with a halter monitor for a day to see what happens all day long. Might be nothing, but with it being your heart, you don't want to mess around. Good luck!

Sounds like it could be PVC's. I agree and see your doc. I have them and it feels like a butterfly is fluttering in my chest or a fish flopping.

General chest pain is common with MCTD though, right? I had an EEG in early April before I got diagnosed and passed that no problem, but I do feel occasional discomfort around my heart occasionally, and have for quite some time.

Chest pain should always be checked out! Pain from your ribs or muscles could be caused by MCTD. Other pain can be something dangerous, like pulmonary embolism, angina, or pericarditis.

Have you consulted with a cardiologist? I suggest that you do as they can do a 24 hour Holter monitor to see if they pick up any abnormalities such as PVC's, etc. The only think is that you have to be having them in order for them to detect them. The doc may order a cardiac stress test too if you're having any chest pain. Best to check and be safe. Good luck and take care.

not as often as you are having. I was wearing a monitor one time when they happen. It show on the monitor my heart skipping. NOtT saying that is what is happening to you.

But yes go and see a Dcotor.
If you are having so many maybe not wait go to ER.

I also have them. I wore the monitor and it was bigeminy and trigeminy. PVC's. I have even been having a little tachycardia. Doctors don't seem interested at all. Says if it gets real worrisome they will send me to the cardiologist but because EKG looks good no worry. So I guess I really have no information. Except I understand. :)

Waiting for a consult from an echocardiogram I had for this exact symptom, but in my case it was b/c they put me on beta blockers to try to reduce painkillers for headache, beta blockers were intolerable and I was falling asleep at work, cut them in half, then stopped, then had palpitations. Research said this happens about 10 days after stopping the betas, and I was body-boarding during that period and DYING out there after 20 minutes. Two weeks later, symptoms ALMOST completely gone, surfing 40-50 minutes on much bigger waves, stamina WAY better.

MT, that's a great list of possible causes... I would rate pericarditis as the top possibility b/c I see it so much in the literature and had it myself. You can get some valve damage from that.

Ive having promblems with my copd right now on predisone iv. Iv antibontics, etc
Pills bymouth, on oxgen and myheart is too low, the rate that is. 49's --50's.
They are trying to find out why as i am in hospital now.
I had phonima .(miss spell). Sowwie. But on breading threatments 4 times a day. Got into trouble so they change.
Then heartfialure. Kick in off of some fluids by iv.
Heart keeps saying on ekg ok? Blood work said minerials lows. Drink those
But they took me off of all my beta blockers. They think heart too low beats.
Spitting up blood while caughting. Stop this morning thank god

So. PLEASE. SEE DOCTOR. PLEASE

I think were all hoping your next post will be with the results from the cardiologist. Nether either or , at some point we just go. and its your turn to go. after We I hear what your cardiologist says I will tell you about what mine does, Its kinda funny.

Bee, so glad you posted. I was starting to get worried about you. I haven't seen a post from you in awhile and was hoping nothing bad happened. I hope you are feeling better and out of the hospital soon!
