I live in southern Ontario and we are surrounded by the great lakes and wonderful farmland. I live in a city of about 45,000, and i am a 1hr drive to 2 major cities, so I feel I have the best of everything.....except mountains we are very flat here. We have to drive to snow ski.....other than that we have just about everything else covered.

I live in the prairies in Saskatchewan...no mountains to be found, flat, flat and more flat....but....we have the best sunsets in the whole world. 5 hours to fantastic camping and fishing up north and the seasons....you have to experience them to love them. Hot here again....can't wait for the coolness of fall.

I live in Vancouver BC .The Pacific ocean, the beautiful mountains .Being an hour from downtown and an hour from wilderness. 15 minutes from beaches. I love the rain and our lack of snow .I wouldnt live anywhere else in the world !!

I live in the English countryside....a few miles from the nearest village and town. I love the peace and quiet....no cars except for visitors, ducks and pheasants in the garden, cows in the field. The stars look fantastic in the evening as there is no light polution...a sanctuary away from the rat race x

I am in Northwestern Ontario in the bush!!! small mountains and lakes everywhere. Doesn't get this hot as usual her in summer. very cold but a dry cold so that is good for me. It is beautiful here!!!! hugs marilyn Beth I lived down your way till the last twenty years. Oh so hot!! lol. Oh we get the northern lights here too if I am awake. LOL

i live in suburbia but in the great southern land of oz which is both ancient and young, worldly and traditional, isolated and yet connected, harsh and warm, temperate and tropical - a land of stark contrasts, amazing colours, big skies, beautiful indigenous peoples of many nations and a unique outlook on life that is warm and good humoured. my suburb is very multi-cultural and smells delightful and the women in traditional dress (Eritrean, somali, sudanese as well as many indian and asian cultures etc) are wonderful.

my garden is my sanctuary, only two years old but growing well and the bulbs multiplying this winter as the dafs and jonquils and bluebells vie for attention. the winter rains have been steady and the deciduous trees are storing it up for the spring buds to burst soon. the gums have their first flowers and will soon tower over the european trees and show off their unusual bark.

my vegetable garden needs weeding. but the rain makes me hopeful my garlic will be great this coming summer.

Wow! I can't believe all of the canadians!! That's really cool.

I live in the suburbs of St. Louis, on the Illinois side. I absolutely love it here! I'm far enough out from the city that it's safe and I have all of the comforts of the suburbs, but i'm only 20 minutes away from the arch! There is so much culture here and sooooo much to do. And, the best part is...a lot of it is FREE!! I work at St. Louis University, so, I get to drive into the city every day. I like it. I've only lived here since the beginning of July and I still get excited when I see the arch each morning...nevermind Busch stadium!! (that's where the Cardinals play...for all you non-sports fans;)

Oh, and we have Anheiser Busch here..good thing...I'm totally a Bud Light gal. We are actually near Scott Air Force Base. My daughter's school is on our road about 10 houses down from ours. Corn fields surround our development...and the "downtown" area is very quaint. Lots of little towns all around us...then there's the "big city". I highly recommend a visit!

Hi everybody. I am Canadian, born in Calgary, AB but have been living here in Costa Rica in a small beach town since February. This is my second time living in C.R., the last time having lived here for seven years. I have been a nature lover all my life and love the diversity of plants and animals that you find here. Everyday is an adventure. The pace of life is slow, the sun almost always shines and the ocean is blue. This is my paradise.

I live in Amargosa Valley Nevada. You will probably have a tough time finding it on a map. I'm 1.5 hrs outta Vegas. I'm not a fan of the big city but the shopping is good and my Drs are there.

I live on an acre in the middle of nothing. My nearest neighbor is about .4 miles away. I have a 360 view of several mountain ranges including the Funeral mountains that divide our valley from Death Valley. The population is about 1500 people. Most of those people are very passionate about our valley and its isolation and community comradery. Here when there is a house fire, the town organizes a charity auction. Many people come for pot-luck and donate an item. Then others interested in the item will bid on it. We have had pies and cheesecakes go for $200 regularly. I remember one for $700. This kind of thing happens whenever something major happens to a community member. We also have special community events annually. In Apr/May is Amargosa days, July has the independence day celebration and December has Christmas under the Night time sky. Everyone of these gatherings is punctuated with fireworks and sometimes a bonfire. I love this place. The only thing I miss about WA is some of its rain and the green that goes with it. :-D

I live in Andover England approx 16 miles from Stonehenge ;) and an hour from London on a fast Train.
Andover is a town not too big but just big enough to have the essentials. Few miles out you hit beautiful green countryside.

All in all not a bad place to be living

sorry about all the death and funerals but good to hear fundraising gets them paid for. and so many canadians why is it so? we should do some sort of study, i heard that tasmania has the most amount of people with MCTD in australia, but statistically not sure how significant. i thought it could be hippy's, more hippy's in tasmania - is there more hippy's in canada or outback desert like nevada and utah, quite a few of us could be described as urban hippy's as i know i am often referred to as such. maybe isolation is the commonality, canada is a big country, australia too, small populations as well but the yanks have a large population, but very few in utah (isn't that where mormons reign) and nevada sounds decidedly sparce given those names....other's live near lakes and wilderness. and who is it who travels 2 hours to washington each day for work....she must live away from it all.

i wonder how other corellations play out, being mostly women, we would have many differences, did you know there are more differences between women and women than there are between men and women, i learnt that some time ago in psychology. i also learnt that corelation is not causation, but would still like to find out more about this darn disease and why many people go into remission and others seem to have many of the worst symptoms combined, most of us hate the steroids and the steroids hate us but most benefit from it and yet studies show it is not very efficacious. i am getting phobic about falling. spacially feel weird - no other words to describe it sorry, am feeling more nausea these days less of the runs, is this what is meant by running its course - why can't it stay still, why run all over me...? although i am glad my ulcerated mouth is better, not completely but much better than it was and yet my ears are worse now that my facial skin is improving.....'tis weird indeed how it moves around. who else gets lumps around the pubis? they disappear after a few days but they are a new phenomena. i forgot to register my car, i have very little to remember these days and forgot something so important. the pile of paperwork was overwhelming so i put it all out of my mind. i must get onto that heap of unpaid bills. am getting an ipad this week. perhaps i can keep track of things on that, set reminders and all manner of diarising available i'm guessing. should have put all this in a journal sorry ladies.

Yes, I live in the middle of nowhere. I'm about 2 hrs out of Vegas. Amargosa has a population of about 1500. About half of that are Hispanic. However, I believe I acquired MCTD in my early 20s. I grew up in Olympia WA and spent my early 20s in the military. One year in VA, Langly AFB and 3 years in Germany, Rhein-Main AB, Frankfurt. Does that info go along with your stats, Tracey?

I'm the one that travels 2 hours to DC and back for work. Thank God for the commuter bus. Couldn't deal with the drive these days, the reynauds is wrecking havoc on my hands. Newest symptom is lumpy, bumpy tissue under the skin on my face, tightness overall across my face and mouth. Feels like a mask. Stringy looking tissue under the skin on my neck and chest. Bumped up my October appointment with rheumy and saw him last Friday. Not much response to my concerns only drew more blood and said come back in a month. I'm thinking it's second opinion time.
