What do you take for sinus trouble? I usually take Sudafed but it looks like these two don't mix. My sinus' are killing me!

Also, I just started taking methotrexate last week. Took 7.5mg on Tuesday and will take another 7.5mg this Tuesday. When I took it for the first time last week, it was really rough. Nausea, low grade fever and generally feeling like total crap all of Tuesday and Wednesday but much much better by Thursday. Will it knock me down like that every week on the day I take it or does your body eventually tolerate it better?

I take lodrane. It is a generic of something. . . (I forget) It works amazingly for me.

I never had any side effects when I started metho in the pill form. I have heard that some people eventually are able to tolerate the side effects. Others must go on the injectable form which is tolerated more easily.

I take 10 mg weekly and feel crappy for only a few hours now. When I first began it last August i basically felt the same way you do.... Only fir the whole but it eventually got better. There are times when I take it now that I don't have any side effects. I sort of plan on it. I take it on Mondays so try to schedule less on those days. You should be taking it with Folic Acid. I started out on 1000 mg and after the first month the rheumy increased it to 2000mg....made a huge difference. Call your rheumy and let them know how you are feeling they may increase your Folic acid now. Hind site ....I wish I would called instead of waiting till my next visit. The methotrexate has helped alot. Hope it helps you too.

I use a meeting pot for any sinus issues.....no medication to interact with anything else.....it has worked wonders for me.

I had a sinus infection recently and used sudafed and had no side effects with the MTX. :)

I also use Sudafed I buy the 30mg tablets so I can take smaller doses than meds that are combined. I use the injectable methotrexate I was like you nausea and even some diarrhea I have no side effects with the injectable once a week small insulin shot. I also have a very touchy belly and couldnt get used to it however I feel great on the meds now and symptoms are better good luck --Michelle

I went to my pharmacist and double-checked and he said Sudafed was fine to take with methotrexate, hallelujah. I forgot to ask him about imitrex though and of course got a migraine after-hours lol. Always something!

I am taking 1000mg Folic Acid but will ask him about increasing it if I'm not doing better by next visit. I took my metho. yesterday and had no side effects whatsoever. Weird considering how badly I reacted last week when I took it, but I'm not complaining! So far I see no difference at all in my symptoms though. Not sure how long it takes to start feeling some effects though.

I use the injectable MTX. I also use imitrex, and have for years, I don't believe that are any big issues there.
