I can relate to the sweat rolling down your back....I hate that. I broke down and turned the air on today even though it isn't too hot, but i couldn't take it anymore. My hands and feet swell in the heat too. I am down to 10mg of prednisone it is an awful drug for the side effects, I have put on 25lbs since staring it and haven't been able to lose any yet with the deduction in dose....here's hoping!

I sweat off and on during the day and all fricken night, so bad that even my damn hair is soaked....now I know that I am at "that age" but I think the disease has something to do with it. I do fine on 10 mg of prednisone, it is my saving grace and like I said before I have lost 20 pounds in the last year since I was diagnosed and have been on prednisone most of the time. My hands however are always swollen and hurt. Hurts to even write with a bloody pen. They look like MIcky Mouse hands and I am now finding myself hiding them rather than tell the whole story. I wish my hands would go down, it is quite gross. Anyway....glad someone else is floating in the sweat boat with me. Hang in there all!

Im that age too and Im sure the symptoms are here too, but, Ive never been served by an older woman or met with an older teacher with sweat soaked hair. Im sure that they dont have 3 outfits to change into a day. So I guess swollen hands means I dont need to invest in lots of jewelery lol! I like bracelets tho hope my wrists arent next.

Hi, yes i get the sweats too...and have done since i was 23. I would often wake in the middle of the night and have to change my bed clothes etc....i still get bad..but not like that anymore, i think the meds must be helping some. Fortunately since being on cellcept i rarely get swollen hands now....just the aches and the pains....i hope you all start to feel better soon....hugs x

I justed turned 40 and been sweating since my 20's rally think it goes with the dz. I have weaned down to 5mg of prednisone and boy is there a difference between 10mg and 5mg. My hands are 100% better still not the prettiest site lol. I too am low maintance when it comes to jewlrey. I did do weight watchers on Prednisone and lost 12# before breaking my foot so I guess it is possible !! Hope everyone feels better soon!!

Auggie do you think it is the prednisone that causes the hands to swell? I find myself trying to hide mine lately, they look like micky mouse gloves. Had a bad day, the amitriptoline makes me so groggy in the morning I slept in, took pills, took toast in the car with my coffee, got 1 mile from home and got rear ended, no damage to my car, or me although i do have a bit of a headache tonight. Got to work - so busy - just got slammed there. Came home at noon, kind of cloudy hoping to weed then the damn thunder and lightning started - 2 inches of rain, my garden is flat as a pancake and was under an inch of sitting water. It has rained so much here, my god, when is it gonna quit.....I live in the dry fricken prairies and we have had 5 inches of rain in the last two weeks. Had to break down and enjoy a couple of icy cold beer while i sat in the garage and watched the storm. It's 8:00 and I am ready for bed. I guess the weeds will still be there in two days when it finally dries up or under the new ocean when I build my ark :) Hope everyone is well and NOT WET@

The trick for the amitritline is take it 12 hours before you need to get up .So if u get up at 8 am take it at 8pm .We are having a bleh summer here cool and cloudy not raining but its dreary . Im going for a nap after cleaning the house ,Pathetic !!!!

I have to rest after folding a damn load of laundry. Yep I know the pathetic feeling. I am feeling pretty good these days, except for the hands and the sweating. Lets hope it stays this way for a while :)

I sweat quite a bit when I was on prednisone but not now. In fact I rarely sweat at all. Then I don't go out in the heat much and have an air conditioner on. My hands are swollen and sore. Starting to get pitting like sores between fingers. Can't stand fingers to touch one another. We are getting quite a few Canadians on the board now. lol. Yeah weather not good here but got not near as much rain as manitoba saskatchewan and alberta. I think the farmers are done for this year. hugs Marilyn

I played two shows last weekend, and I was soaked in sweat, but I think that's because I had this stupid cold. Got seriously dehydrated, couldn't drink enough water, I'm sure it didn't help.

When the muscle aches and fevers were part of my flares, I did sweat a lot and my hair was stringy and disgusting. I am just pissed about last weekend, because I got so damn sick even though I wasn't drinking any alcohol at all. They were both underground punk venues, everyone else was pounding beers, and I'm the one who is home with the damn flu.
