Hi all,

I have been getting excessive, unexplained bruises, usually about two to three inches on my thighs and back and a very small one on my left rib and left breast. I also have three on my face. I have no idea how! The big ones hurt. I have about 6 in total right now. I have one on each elbow (not in the 8 count), but that is because I fell in the night while walking down our stairs half asleep.

I see my GP tomorrow (and I know she will ask about my husband, who has never laid a hand on me). Probably nothing, but I thought I would ask.

You need your platelet count checked. This disease can cause low platelet counts that can cause serious problems. I knew of a family that almost lost custody of a child because of the bruises on the child's body. Then, they found the low platelet count. Good luck with this!

I was taking Asprin for awhile and was bruising a lot had to stop the meds. Also my platelets are "not good" because of the meds and disease so I bruise easy. Hope you get some answers!!!-Michelle

Sometimes bruising can go with a clotting disorder, like,what your neuro was talking about. I don't know if your gp does thes sorts of tests but, you can look at the list of tests for Hughes syndrome and see if he can test you for that.

Hi,

My platelets are getting checked, along with many other tests I have not had. My GP said something about looking at my blood cells under a microscope. They too 7 viles of blood. I see my GP in 3 months, but I am sure she will call sooner if they find something.

A friend of my has lupus and that is how they diagnosed her first because she started doing that. It has something to do with clotting issues

I read that it can be related to Lupus, but I have not been diagnosed with that yet.
