It is a real accomplishment!! You will always have a job that pays good enough to live on. But you will work holidays, nights, weekends. The satisfaction is great. But there will also be great sorrows. Keep your heart in the right place and in the end you will be able to say you are proud to be a nurse.

I echo the comments above that it is truly a great profession... every nurse I know, without exception, has felt it was a great career choice. It is wonderful that so many people on this board are caregivers...
